Oh what you wouldn't give for Youngy, Forber or Webster to be still playing and to give him a warm welcome next season. For that matter think Alker would have relished putting him on his ar$e.

Mason's had a fairly good season at North Queensland this year from what I've seen of him.

I've not seen that much of him, but he's not appeared in the highlights I've watched and North Queensland finished bottom (apart for Melbourne) and they didn't want to keep him.

Just ditched that keyboard ... suprised Butcher did not have a comment.

Agreed not to mention his change of scenery moving from Sydney to Queensland, he's been nothing more than a bit part player in a very poor NQC side this season. They were so bad even the Sharkies finished above them.

Good assessment. The fact that he had to go to a Townsville in the first place says a lot. He's not exactly been quiet with regards to his feelings towards Queenslanders in the past. Yet due to the fact that no club in NSW wanted him, he had to up sticks and move a long way north to a very weak N-Qld side.

Talking to a guy from Queensland a few weeks back on holiday and he told me Mason is nothing like the player he was. He said he's OK at best for about 10 minutes!

And even then, not every week.

There was a funny moment at the recent match between North Queensland and Canberra. A couple of Canberra fans held up a banner that read, "Who needs a big Willie when you have a great Tongue" (Alan Tongue - Canberra hooker)

I cant wait to see his face when he gets tackled single handedly by Ratchford!
