So much doom & gloom re the club makes me question if you are a supporter or just a constant whinger who likes to kick a dog when its down.
A previous poster has pointed out the salford star has no allegience with Salford Rugby club or our chairman, so will constantly look for negatives about the club to basically stir the s##t, & of course, we all know what is printed or said in any media tool is gospel truth
As for your vitriolic castigating of the chairman & other directors, I personally dont think we need supporters of that ilk. Im all for constructive criticism when its needed but to constantly put the boot in, as you do really p##ses me off.

If it was left to the Salford Star, the ground would not get built, they kicked up a fuss about the council helping out, also the City of Salford would be bulldozed into the ground, its a nice article but nothing new really.
THANKS FOR PUTTING ME RIGHT BIG PEV.

| I pointed out the article the other week re the 12,000 stadium, and no where in it did i read the Star calling the club. I would suggest Billy Bradshaws Mum et al, actually read the article properly. The council all along have said it will be 15,000 at first and then 20,000. They have released press statement after press statement saying this, which has been printed nationwide, and as the Star as shown since the plans were submitted. Show me a press statement saying the ground will be 12,000. The first I saw was in the original article on the Star which i linked on the turkey and when i looked at the plans myself.
I quote from the article
Finally, I feel really sorry for the Salford City Reds staff who have battled hard for this new stadium, who take all the flak from the fans, and this week the media, because it's not their fault. It is quite clear when you look at the plans that this is a Peel and Salford City Council venture, the Reds are the tenants as it is a community stadium. ]
How the hell can this be construded as calling the club? It can not and is not. You may not like the Salford Star but in this case it has run the truth and ]shown the evidence]. Which is what i thought the media especially local media was for. Again no where have I read in the article the author saying he didnt want the stadium building.
]It is quite obvious where the author is coming from, the council has not been forthcoming with the full story and that is the point, the Reds seem to be the victims to as well as the supporters. ]
I must say you must be living in cloud cuckoo land if you believe that once they have built the ground they are then going to close it to add new tiers then change the floodlights to make it 15 or 20,000. Why dont you look at the pictures the difference between 12,000 and 20,000 is huge. Also which the star pointed out in the visulisations there was no images for the phase 2 stadium. Just 1 and 3. And it is clear the council said we would get 15,000 and planned for 12,000. If they can put 12,000 seats etc in they can put in 15,000. Whats the difference? We wont be getting the cup semis in a 12,000 will we?
As to LanceTodd being called for putting up an article, when Pev i think put up a link to the Bulldogs re what they were saying about ryan, tandy and patten i didnt see critism was that because it was good news?
Finally I would suggest to Billy Bradshaws Mum that as a senior person in 4eva Reds and unoffical media person for the club she should refrain from telling people who are fans and who are not. Incase she damages our franchise bid further by cutting our dwindling support more.

No, that was because Pev is a reasonable, sensible poster and lancetodd is a miserable, whiney little turd.

| Gruffy, I cant see in my post saying that particular article was calling the club, I was refering to plenty of other stories written in the salford star over time that are always very negative to the club, John Wilkinson in particular.
As for living in cloud cuckoo land, to think the club/council/peel would eventually increase the capacity then Warrington must already be in cloud cuckoo land as that is what they are proposing to do at the Halliwell Jones as they have realised their capacity is not enough.
Oh, & didnt Man U also increase their capacity without much disruption to all their fans.
Lance Todd continually calls for the chairman & his directors to vacate the club which makes me think he doesnt want a club to support, because the money people are not queing up to buy him out, so no John Wilkinson = no Salford, simple as.

Bolton Wanderers similarly increased the capacity of the Reebok Stadium without any disruption to fans at all.
Cloud Cuckoo Land certainly seems to cover quite a few areas?!

So capacity will be about the same as the Willows is now.

Why would anyone support her though? She's trampled on many people yet people love her?

| This shameful news coming from such a quality media outlet.
I mean really that would currently mean there is only approximately 4 seats per person in attendance.
Me thinks there is maybe an ulterior motive behind you posting this kind drivel with such a megative slant given to things.

Lance Todd I've been following your posts are noticed that they always tend to be negative. Why are there posters on here that only ever post negative comments? Make a big signing or a giant killing win and nothing but find something to bitch about in an attempt to put the club down and you and others just can't resist a pop at every opportunity! You must be very bitter people. I actually question at times if you are actually genuine 'Salford Supporters' and not one of the small few Swinton fans in disguise just trying to rock the boat? I'm remain unconvinced because most posters make both negative and positive remarks over time but their are some that never make one single positive post ever.

| theredshed. Spot on matey.
The last time you saw most of the muppets on the forums was the 'McRae out!' shenanigans. They seem to have appeared again earlier this week and have mysteriously disappeared as the Club announce new signings...

| Firstly could anyone tell me the circulation figures of the Salford Star?I ask this as I have been unable to find anyone else apart from a couple of posters on here who actually receive it and it appears that the Salford Star doesn't cover all parts of Salford.
Secondly is the Lance Todd dinner actually in honour of Lance Todd?
Thirdly is does appear to myself that there are some supporters on here who make out that a bad news story is good news and that a good news story is bad, especially when it concerns Salford City Reds.
We have a Chairman and a couple of other directors who for years have kept the club going despite the setbacks over the stadium, despite poor gates, despite some numpties who call themselves fans and despite some poor peformances yet these directors are providing us with a new stadium and some fans are still unhappy just what do they want?
If I were the Chairman I would have cut my losses years ago but I am not and John Wilkinson is and being the man that he is he will not give up despite all that I have said above.

| I'm almost lost for words.
I'm neither an Architect nor a Structural Engineer, but have no reason to doubt that previously reported and documented plans which detail the fact that the capacity of the stadium can be increased as and when necessary.
Didn't soaring material costs and the (ongoing) recession see off the original design and capacity ? If so, wasn't it almost entirely accepted that a scaled down version was the only way forward ?
Why then are people still whinging about what the ground will hold when the build is compete ?
What the hell does it really matter ?
The Willows had run it's course and was not suitable for expansion. What were the alternatives ?
Some people are never happy, and as far as I'm concerned should alter their outlook on life.
I couldn't give a damn if it initially only holds 12k, it keeps our club alive and in with good chance of growth and success.
Those who have devoted countless amounts of time and energy to get the project to this stage have my utmost admiration.
Could any of the moaners have done better ??
(answers on the back of a postage stamp please)

Its dead easy all you do is draw up some plans on the back of an old fag packet. Then you get a Thomson local and look under B for Builders. Phone one up and tell them to start the day after because the fans want it built by the end of next month. Then you pay for it out of the millions the club makes every year. Simples
