As a Wales and Crusaders fan, I'd like to put my two penneth in.

I am genuinely surprised and sorry that you have swapped Brian Noble for Iestyn Harris . Koukash has done great things to benefit rugby league, but this move will probably turn out as a disaster, you all deserve better.

When Noble was at the Crusaders, there was a positive buzz. In no small part due to Noble and his positive, inclusive manner. As an example, before matches, he'd walk on the pitch and applaud the fans, creating a positive feedback loop, much as Clive Griffiths does. We never ever saw Iestyn Harris, he was the club, we were just the necessary evil.

When Noble was at the helm, and during the last 2 years with Griffiths in charge, we played positive successful rugby. With Harris it was negative, I imagine his team talk probably goes like this “ don't take risks, it's more important to hang onto the ball than to race up the field”.

I'd forgotten how negative Crusaders played under him, until I saw a carbon copy approach taken by Wales in the World Cup.

Both I and my son missed a Wales match because our feelings about Harris. We had been talking about watching the odd Salford game this year, not now.

Anyway good luck, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and really hope you do well. You deserve it.

you are clearly forgetting Brian Noble has been sat idle for a couple of years whilst Iestyn Harris has been learning under one of the best coaches in super league and has been apart of the structures Wigan have in place and no doubt Marwan wants him to replicate that at salford. Can he been a bit miserable? yes but seriously would you moan if he brought some consistency and some structure to your attack so you don't struggle when chase isn't playing?

On a side note how can anybody try and judge him on the wales performance? He is building a base and foundation for actual welsh players and not just stuffing the team full of heritage players. Take out all of the heritage players from the lower teams and wales would more than likely dominate them.

I have an open mind on Harris and I'm prepared to give my support. If it doesn't work he will be gone by September it's that simple.

What surprises me are all these anti Harris posts making reference to him coaching Wales. FFS no disrespect intended but the Welsh national team wouldn't even be good enough to compete in Superleague let alone at International level. Further to this I take the comments about his record at Crusaders with a pinch of salt to because it's common knowledge that the club was in crisis because the players weren't being paid.

Without having a rugby back ground, I wonder if someone advised Marwan that Harris was the right man to take over or if he made this decision himself based on the fact Harris spent two years with Wane in a successful Wigan set up?

He defiantly would have asked Ian Lenegan for Advice, Just as Ian did about Maguire. Ian also knew Noble wouldn't be the man to bring success to Wigan but he certainly stabilised it just as he has at Salford.

I think the biggest surprise is that Koukash didn't go for an established Australian coach. It will be interesting to see how Harris goes. It would be nice to see another British coach doing well - but it is a surprise not to get an Aussie as he does like to talk big.

or from a different angle does anyone think he would have took over once Wane stood aside - and if that's the case why would Wigan let him go with two years invested in him?

How often does an assistant coach make the step up to head coach at the same club and be successful? I'm not saying it's never happened because it has but it doesn't happen often.

The Aussie press link on the Cronulla thread states Harris has a contract until the end of 2016.

I suspect there will be certain conditions in the contract allowing MK to terminate it,if results are below par.
Possibly another clause making sure that he does accept a job 'upstairs' if offered. Perhaps not !

Couldn't give a toss about how he talks to the cameras, as long as the players know what he means and respond accordingly. Paul Cullen was a cliche on legs who talked to the cameras very well, but he never got the best out of the players at Warrington. My only interest is in team performance not ability to be photogenic and produce good sound bites. Leave the media to Marwan for that.

I would be dissapointed if there wasnt clauses in Harris' contract which were performanced related. For example, if he fails to reach the top 8 this season then obviously he will need to be replaced.

I still dont feel like Harris (as I didnt with Noble) is the man to lead us to glory, but I'm more than happy to give him a chance. I envisage his tenure lasting just over 12 months, with a top name Australian/British coach coming on board and taking all the glory for groundwork put in by Noble and Harris.
