Quote: TheButcher "One mans cast-off is anothers top performer...

...Look at Andy Coley.

Amazing as it may seem to some RL fans, some players actually perform better when they leave a club. Amazing stuff, I realise. There's no point in any teams fans getting all high and mighty as 'big-name' players will fail as readily as 'cast-offs' and visa versa.

tsk...

Not much point in debating the virtual size of your Clubs e-penis...'"

I do see your point but Andy Coley probably isn't the best example to use. It was more of the case that he just decided to stop putting in any effort because he wanted to go/knew he was going. I don't think many people doubted his ability.

A fresh environment is sometimes a good thing for a player and gives them that extra enthusiasm and drive.

Why not all four in the 17? You can't look at your team like years back and say what's our strongest team 1-13, it's very much a 17 man team! Years ago the subs were considered the weaker players and only came on if someone got injured.

i don't know if id have bailey, IMO fielden would be a massive signing, if baileys on quota its a wasted spot which could be filled by carl webb happily

Do we need another prop? To my reckoning we already have 6 or 7 for next year. If you think about it we are only releasing Big Phil and it looks like we are adding Palea'aesina, and Neal has already signed. The back row is a different story where we are actually releasing 3 players and have only signed two replacements to date.

true true, if that's the case then it depends where we play him, is sean gleeson still an option?

I know Boyle still has a year left, but has he done enough to impress? Could it be he's not in the clubs long term plans and will only be used when our ranks are depleted next year. Parker's ability to play prop has been questioned since the start of the season and Jewitt doesn't make enough yards. Which leads us to Neal and Sidlow, both have potential but are not ready to lead the line yet. So if anything happened to Cashmere we're left with Feka to lead the line and he doesn't play enough minutes.

So yes if we could add a Fielden or a Webb, we sould. Bailey would give us strength in depth in the back row also. Somebody said Rubgy League was a seventeen man game now, I'd say, with the amount injuries any team gets now it's more like a 25 man game.

Pure speculation until all the signings have been revealed, as we may have another Prop on his way in.

You need 4 impact + 2 understudy's minimal , Sidlow I class as 2nd Row first, filling in a Prop if we're desperate , Rob Parker & Jewitt have had long spells on the treatment table so maybe they're factoring that in .

The most successful sides have strength in depth in the squad - you WILL get injuries, you must be able to cope - you need a bigger squad than we have now!

Your average home attendance this year is 15,612, ours is 4,230, which in fact 10% of yours is 1,562, correct me if I'm wrong?

1,562 that was Wigan's average crowd in the early 80's

you could put parker back to 2nd Row, a position he played his best rugby in a salford shirt imo.

Bailey is for me an identikit player to Nero and I can't get enthused about him either. If we have to have one of them make it that. Keep saying it but for me Neal (or is it Neil) is more of a 2nd rower than a prop for the time being and looks to have all the attributes to be a class act for many years to come.
