What's his record this year?
If the Salford forwards play like they did yesterday every game they should go okay.

| Blaming the timekeepers is just daft. If this has come from Jacko, then you can be sure the timekeepers had it spot on. I'll reiterate the rule of thumb: if Jacko says something is true, it isn't.
As for the game itself, I think the best team lost. We looked better with the ball than Cas, and regularly made more ground in our sets than they did. We also kept possession better, which explains the penalty count (you give more penalties away when you're defending, which, in turn means you spend more time defending, which means you give more penalties away...it's how teams get a roll on). We had plenty of possession in the first half but couldn't break the Cas line. Rangi was fairly anonymous (but so was Marc Sneyd).
We improved second half, and Rangi came into it more. We bombed a couple of clear chances, and should have been far enough ahead for the last minute try to have been irrelevant. Our inability to finish let us down again.
I think losing Gareth Hock was a big blow, possibly the turning point. He showed when he came back on that he's head and shoulders above any other forward on the field last night. As one Cas fan said, had he been able to play the full game, the result would have been different.
MoM (for both sides) was Niall Evalds. Again. A bomb is as good as a pass, the cas kickers found him with clockwork regularity, and he looked threatening every time he had the ball. Nobby's decision to not play him gets more and more inexplicable. The question needs to be asked: do we really need Kevin Locke?
Overall, an enjoyable game. The weather inevitably made handling difficult, but that seemed to affect Cas more than us. Our defence was good, and our attack - second half - looked decent. We just can't finish moves off, but I do think we're improving.

| think these complaints are from Salford fans not actually at the game.
The clock isn't visible from the gantry where the radio commentators are and were clearly timing the game on their watch.
The match clock stops and starts as the referee dictates and there were 30 seconds left when we scored - we counted down the clock at the end.
There was no "time added on" whatsoever, but it'd be a good laugh to see Saflord frantically complaining to the RFL
as for the game, we were absolutely terrible. Like watching the Cas of last year.
Somehow Salford contrived to lose even with a massively favourable penalty count. All that flair on the field and scored 10 points camped on our line for what seemed like the entire match. Something's just not clicking, but they'll find the groove eventually

He inhertited a Nobby squad: big, bustling (but slow) backs, 'experienced' forwards, no specialist dummy half, no goal kicker. He's shown with his signings that he's fully aware of the problems he was left with, and, I think, has done an extremely good job given what he had to work with. We're playing better now than we did at any time under Nobby. The time to judge him is next season, but I'm happy with what I've seen so far.

From what I've read, the complaint was from the commentator on GMR, and people who weren't there are just picking up on it. Jacko's commentaries are, by and large, dreadful. He's either telling you what's coming up tomorrow or what's happening elsewhere, or he's trying to find controversy where there is none. I just can't listen to him.
I agree, Cas were poor, but I'd like to think that's because we made you look poor. Our defence was right up in your face, and Marc Sneyd weas given little time on the ball. I hope last night didn't reduce his selling price.
And I also think we'll click, eventually. Hopefully.
I'm starting to look forward to matches again, after a few months of just going out of duty.

| No complaints on time from me, both teams had the same amount of time.
You could see from the reaction of th Cas fans when Webster dived in for the winner, they knew they had got away with robbery and didn't deserve the 2 points.
I was really impressed with our performance, yes we bombed numerous chances to score, but the improvement is far more pleasing. Well done to Harris and the boys.
There isn't much between us and Cas, infact we've been the better team twice this season. Had Harris been charge from the start I think we'd be up in the play-offs spots now.

Spot on - you can the difference in our defence which now appears to have some structure to it, and the tackling has improved.
For me the issue last night was the first half - we spent plenty of time in the Cas 20 but just didn't/couldn't score - I was then expecting to go down by 20 points plus in the 2nd half playing up the slope but in fact it ended up 10 8 with a much improved performance - clearly Hock going off early in the 1st half was a big problem for us.

I agree once we get more overall pace in the backline I think we'll be fine. We're just lacking a couple of quicker players capable of finding some holes or finishing off some breaks. I'm sure Locke and MCB will soon provide us with what were lacking. A big plus is that the hard work Harris has put into the defence appears to be showing now.

Absolutely spot on, chap!!
The emergence of Evalds just shows the ability of Noble to spot talent....thank God we haven't lost him. In my opinion he is already worth his weight in gold from a utility point of view and has to be found a place in the 17. I think this puts particular pressure on Theo, particularly next year as Niall reminds me of Ratchford in that he exudes confidence in his own ability and nothing seems to phase him.
Although disappointed, I did come away from the ground revved up for our next game as I believe we are improving each week - we just need to focus on our attack as much as we have our defence in the last few weeks. I also hope that the arrival of Locke will lift the dressing room and prove a catalyst for a strong end of season (without making any bold predictions).

| I think we're getting much nearer to where we need to be. You can just sense this team is getting close to finding the level of performance you would expect from them.
I bet yesterday was the quietest it's been throughout a game at the Jungle all year. OK they can say they made too many errors and didn't play well but I'd like to think we had a bearing on that.

| I would suggest loaning that young full back to us next season. Agreed with red John that he was motm. I don't agree that there isn't much between the 2 sides in general though. We were utter foul yesterday, void of intelligence at times, I'd agree and say we didn't deserve to win. We are so much better then yesterday as we have shown this year, have you guys shown that? With that being said I'm sure you'll improve bucket loads next year.

Supporters of a few teams we've played recently have complained that they can play better than that. The common denominator is you've been playing us. Our defence has improved massively under Iestyn, and we're stifling teams. You play as well as the opposition let you, and we're not letting teams play well at the moment. Once our attack improves, we'll see a huge improvement in our fortunes.
As for letting Niall go on loan to you...nah. Look what happened last time we let you play with one of our players. You squealed like wounded pigs when it was time for him to go home. Although I'll be disppointed to see Marc go, it will entirely be because he's a home grown player. Aside from his kicking game, I think Rangi is the more creative half-back. Niall Evalds, though, is the real deal. Letting him go would be just dumb.

| Well what will happen to him? Is he friends with Marc? I've been quite philosophical about sneyds future but he seemed damn happy yesterday. I do feel for the lad at full back because naturally Locke will slot in there. Obviously I was joking about him being loaned to us!
