When / if our new owner is unveiled would be good if we had a getting to know you session? Perhaps its somethin forever reds would look into?

I can't seriously understand what is in it for the Council and Peel to finance us.The Council will get pelters for using money incorrectly and Peel, other than sponsorship and the Stadium(with a view to other projects) have no interest in sport.I feel that there must be another unnamed party involved and that the Council and Peel as joint owners of the stadium have an interest in terms of getting money into the Stadium company coffers.If it is the Council and Peel I can only see it being short term as a holding position until other owners come in or the franchise runs out.

Trouble is at this rate, our new owner is probably still going through puberty.

......and another week goes by. Players wages due soon, who's paying them this month? Who payed them last month?

I agree with your post. The question is can Peel/Council afford Salford to go to the wall? No license would do a disaster for the stadium management finances long term. Administration would mean having a tenant with a substantially reduced income and no means to afford the rent. Common sense would suggest some investment short term and getting the finances in better order to attract a buyer. I think the SMC owners have to take a long term view on this situation.

You had better hope the bank don't read that otherwise they might remove any OD facilities ala Bradford.

Don't be naive Phil. It seems Peel want the Board to pay off the Bank. Would you do that? Fund a takeover for somebody else? Looks a stalemate if reports are correct.

When the future of our Club hangs in the balance, there's nothing like continually labeling and dividing each other to really help with the sky high morale around here.

Surprisingly my post would appear to have aggravated you in some way to prompt your reaction, why? All I’m doing is looking at the big picture and stating that it wouldn’t be in the SMC’s best financial interests in the long-term if the club went and subsequently lost the license.

Putting your personal issues aside surely you can see the point I am making?



Directors would suggest to me more than one person. Generally in business when a company acquires another company they take on any existing loans and other liabilities. It appears they want control of the club for free with the current owners already agreeing to write off a small fortune in loan shares. In addition to this they now want them to personally takeover an existing club loan and repay it without the clubs income to do so.

It’s kind of like giving your car away because you can’t afford the running costs and then the person you are giving it to demanding two new tyres and tank full of juice.

It might just be more complicated than that.

I'm sure it is, hence the delay in coming to an acceptable agreement between the many different parties involved.
