| Quote: ess-ay-el-eff-oh-ar-dee "I'm just attempting to ascertain a few facts around the situation. When I talk about nonsense, I'm talking about things like the Cavendish Street posts that turned out to be a bit silly, really. I agree there's a lot of problems and we are nowhere near where we should be. Just would like the rumours to be a little less shadowed, nothing more.
The most recent thing I've seen ties in at least partially with what Karlos13 has posted above, Peel apparently "taking over" but won't put any cash in, looking to sell within the year or they'll wind the club up. The best thing now would be if the club/Peel/anyone actually came out and made a bloody statement.'"
Who knows really,i for one will blame Wilkinson,he`s the one who took us to the most biggest white elephant ever built,Mr Salford is the problem,if not him then next his daughter, god help us.And yet,you get ..oles thinking these guys are great,i just despair

It's Glazers. And f**k that, we're skint enough as it is.
And before any giddy kipper mentions it, no, I don't want the Arab Sheikh's dirty money either.

| Is this a good time for Forever Reds to campaign supporters for a level of fan ownership, purchase a percentage of equity etc?

| Chico - A question I've asked on here a few times, but do the sums...
The "debt" sems to be around £5 million - primarily to JW - would he want all or any of that clearing before selling shares?
How much working capital does the business (and I say business not club beause that is how you need to look at it) need to keep running ? - bear in mind if you have a siginificant change in ownership then any existing bank guarantees and overdrafts etc will need re-negotiating and in the present climate that may not be a pleasant task!
Let's assume you need just £2.5 mill working capital and JW is extraordinarily generous and agrees to leave his loans in the business.
Then, an optimistic 3,000 people agree to buy shares (about the number of the faithful)
By my calculation thats only £833 each
But take the other extreme - JW requires paying out and the business plan says you need £5 mill W Cap - all of a sudden our faithful 3,000 need to find £3,333 each
If only 1,000 people pitch in, then multiply those numbers by 3
Great idea, but I fear the sums just won't add up - however if anyone wants to discuss further then I'm up for it.

If we don't ask the question we will never know, a percentage of the club owned by the supporters surely this needs exploring. I would be most certainly up for exploring this possibility.

| I agree completely - Forever Reds could be the vehicle to do this, but I was just pointing out the likely size of the enterprise!!

Well to own the club outright, as is, is pie in the sky; a partial stake may also scare off potential investors. However, I think it would be a good idea to at least open the debate now, especially if the worst comes to pass and Salford are on the brink of being wound up. It would also be handy to know how AFC Wimbledon and Exeter City runs its affairs. Both professional football clubs run by supporters trusts, arguably with a wage bill similar to Salford's and averaging around 3,500.

| the difference for football is that they play twice as many matches at home and get more TV money and are on terrestrial telly every week so can charge a bit more for advertising and shirt sponsor. I would guess they have a lot more members than Forever Reds and more people willing to get involved and support the cause rather than slagging off everything the club do and don't do anything constructive to help.

| With some posters thinking a meeting is a good idea, could I ask that one is called sooner rather than later as the temperatures may drop, weather become more inclement and spending money on certain presents may take priority.
There is a new club going into Championship 1 already started a supporters trust rlStoryrl and Hunslet in the Championship are run in the same way.
As are rlRochdale Hornetsrl
There should be no reason for anyone to fear losing any money if the donations are put into an Escrow account
because if whatever target is not reached the money could be returned;if desired.
rlEscrow Account Informationrl
I have no idea what the state of play is but if an investor doesn't want any supporter involvement,so be it,the money and publicity raised shouldn't do any harm.
It may even gain attention beyond those affiliated with the club.
