| from the MEN
"McRae, who was head coach at Hull from 2000-04, will become the club's director of rugby and help choose Agar's successor.
That is expected to be Australian Peter Gentle, currently assistant to Tim Sheens with both Wests Tigers and Australia, who rejected the chance to take over as Salford coach earlier this year"
me smells a massive rat
but at least we have Matt

| I think he should appoint Steve Simms as Coach.

| Just been on Hull's Forum and read 18 pages of supporters glowing in their praise of the man we knew as 'The Slug'.
There may have a miriad of circumstances that led to his ultimate failure, but it beggars belief that he didn't play a major role in the dire rugby that we've had to put up with for the last four years.
I will be very interested indeed to see how this appointment turns out.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr:7891.jpg |

| Can just see it now......
Hull start off the season with 5 straight wins. We don't start off all that well. All off a sudden everyone saying we should have appointed Gentle and kept the slug on board.

Aye we love bomber over here, good guy and we played some real class rugby with him in charge, also it sounds like he won't have much involvement in coaching, he will be more involved with bringing youth through (which hasn't happened for a little while) and advising our owner and will be heavily involved in signing and resigning players that our new coach wants. Leaving our new coach to focus solely on playing matters.

| The guy is an expert in playing up and coming home grown players in there wrong positions and has a natural talent for pixxing his teams supporters off. Another huge talent is his ability on using statistics to enhance his team further On the whole he probably dragged our club back another ten years during the three and a half years he was here. Personally i think we have improved more in the last 7 weeks than we did under his time here. Would not wish for him to be let loose on any team , anywhere Only positive is he (hopefully ) wont be on sky as much

he didn't appear to do much coaching here and avoided the youth infact he forced many good young players away, could only come up with one game plan for all teams and had no idea about the opposition.
Good luck to you at Hull.

| The difference between the mcrae when he was at hull fc as head coach and then salford was the standard of players! At hull we had quality playrrs like jason smith, richie barnett, swain, mcmenemy, unlike salford who had the odd individual who shone! we played the most entertaining rugby in years with bomber in charge, including a whipping of your own team
Mcrae will have nothing to do with the first tesm coaching, he will be pesrsons advisor with his contacts in the game
