Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

| I'm surprised that we've not had a "Friday night V Sunday afternoon" thread on here before TBH

| This may become more of an issue when we're playing in Barton.

| I can see plus points for both. Personally I don't have a problem with Friday nights at the moment however it will become an issue when we move to Barton. Unless I drive I will have problems getting to the new ground as I work til 6pm and I can't imagine traffic will be that great around the area on a Friday night.
Sundays will be better for me but obviously not for everybody else. I'm sure the club will do the research and pick the most suitable ko time.

| Look at the friday afternoon game all right it was a bank holiday it kicked off 3pm look at the increase in the gate.8pm kick offs friday is not easy for fans to get to moterways are always jammed. Sunday we always had a good following and would love to see if there was a diffrence in takings just on gates alone. Alot of people as wellvtravel on public transport and to be honest at 8pm onwards transport is poor to get to game. There is all sorts of reasons to prevent people going friday night. On sundays i was able to by season ticket now i am missing half games for work commitments. Correct me if i am wrong but i dont recall the club asking for a fans view on this i dont recall being asked could like i say be totally wrong on this one.

Without going over old ground, the unfortunate reason for Fridays is that they get more corporate revenue vs gate revenue. Correct me if I'm wrong on this btw as I seem to recall this cropping up previously. Sad really. I understand why the Club does it, but it is losing out on potential fans and new fans. Sunday afternoons, Sunday sessions, the warm weather (in theory) seems far more attractive as a fan than rushing around on a Friday evening with the Friday traffic etc.

| Sunday afternoons all the time for me.
Having said that, if we had played at 7am on a Monday morning we should be attracting more than 2k to a game.

| Apparently as Butcheroony has mentioned the income from corporate hospitality on a friday night is so significant it totally puts sunday out of the running.
Oh and the reason the crowd was so big Good Friday was due to wire bringing thousands on a bank holiday when they have the best team in the land. You think we'd have had a good crowd had it been against Crusaders or Quins? I think not.

Don't remember being locked out but in the late 80's and early 90's I remember some very big bumper crowds. Think maybe the increase in media outlets for RL make the cost of attending live games less attractive. Also would suggest that there is more to do in the Salford/Manchester area than any other RL team in Super League barring the Quinns down in that there London Village.
You could have sat in your comfy chair Friday night with a few decent beers and a nice spot of food listening to the game in the Beeb and not had to cringe at the annuncers attempts at humour.
