| I thought that we'd shaken off the whingers.
It can be as good or as bad as you want it to be.
Koukash has now said there'll be free parking, the fans bar generates a really good atmosphere and the Club are clearly on the up.
Yes,attendances are bad but they will improve as performances improve.
The Doctor and his team are busting their guts to improve things so for heavens sake lets be more positive.
Nobody has any idea whether reduced ticket prices will work but it might be worth trying as a one off,and then the season ticket holders would probably have a case to moan about.
Lets change the mood on here,it's not helping anybody.

Things that happen at Barton not the willows
Pre match dvd of classic games
Quiz
2 pint pots
Buying beers and food from same place
Interviews with players
Sky sports in the bar
Drink offers
Management accessible and willing to engage with fans
Looks modern with facilities to do other activities on game day on astro turf
The only thing that lets it down is standing behind the goal but the option is there to go on the side from what ive been told more people now sit than stand on a match day'"
For gods sake don't mention Turf !! it'll set people off again .
But you're right there are positives from watching at SCS., I made a early decision to abandon the terrace for the better view in the West stand , appreciate calls for more rational pricing on the south stand. and there is work to do to get the balance right .
However some of the complaints doing the rounds I'm surprised Salford aren't marketing a hair shirt to go with the replica tops ..

Yeah I'd say you probably are, but that doesn’t surprise me to be honest. Going to a home game doesn’t have the same ‘exciting game day’ feel as going to the Willows did and never will IMO and I live round the corner so don’t have to travel anymore!

Thats because you have memories at the willows in 20+ years when we have won epic encounters/cup wins/ horrible defeats and made some memories I think you will feel the same as the willows

| Oh come on people - let's look at some realpolitik over all this
How many of you were at Pendelton Church last December? At that moment most of us leaving that meeting didn't think we'd have a club at all.
The new stadium is a fact, the Willows no longer exists so for better or for worse that IS now our reality. Yes there are some annoyances (apart from some of the posters on here) but can you not see that things are improving?
Let's list the plusses for once not the minuses!
1 We have an owner with cash and vision
2 We have the best English coach in SL
3 We have a management team that speaks to the fans and listens
4 We have quality players wanting to sign (Darryl Griffin - excellent)
5 We're not Warrington
Think positive - Onwards and Upwards!!!!!

| Pretty certain fans probably thought the same when attending the Willows after New Barns.
I'm willing to bet when we start to make new memories at Barton that people will change tack.
I do though think that a more Salford feel to the concourses and other areas would help matters and that if/when the Doc gets a share in the stadium steps will be made to begin that process.

| Think the problem with the new place is that a lot of the people who stood in the shed have moved to the West Stand (myself included) to get the view from the side of the pitch. Feels like we've split into two groups. Home games just don't have the same feel about them anymore.

| I think it's due to the lack of Uncle Joe's mintballs advertisements in the stadium.

3596.jpg this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning

But you don't have to preach to the posters on here, 99% go to games anyway! Try telling them that who don't attend down at the local pub and they'll laugh in your face! Sad but true!

Yes. But then again, I'm not surprised in the slightest.

Even Koukash has had bad things to say about the ground. Maybe, just maybe, there's a lot of constructive criticism going around based on people's personal experiences of the ground. You're not suggesting that we ignore all that, are you? Because I would have thought the best way to improve the match day experience at Barton would be to look at what can be improved, rather than ignoring it. It is possible to be positive about what the club is trying to do whilst still being critical of current practice, be it from Salford RLFC or the Stadium Management Company.

The fact is the stadium is built in the wrong place, there is nothing to tempt fans to arrive early. If the weather is inclement you are resigned to either going in the stadium bars (which i am told by Salford fans arn't the best) or sitting in the stadium, which quite frankly is a cold souless place much like all the new stadiums.
Quite where they could have built it is a tough one. The fact it was moved so far from the heartland of core support must also be a factor.
A team that is winning and challenging will undoubtedly assist and it may be a case of sitting patiently.

There's acres of empty land east of Weaste. The demolition business is where it's at!
