Salford appear to be the experts in releasing promising statements with no substance. They have been waiting for a stadium to spring out of the ground for almost a decade. It was promised back in 2003, and nothing. It has been promised for 2009, 2010 and now seemingly 2011. Surely time is running out for Manchester's only club.
But all the talk is wearing thin. Maybe this time the RFL won't accept false promises as they have done in the past.'"

It was Manchester Council who put the big spanner in the works when they objected because we wouldn't move to a third rate ground known as Maine Road.
Also its Manchester Council who employ Yawnian caoches and encourage that sport and not the proper rugby played in the City of Salford. |

I agree.
I never realised quite how negative people from my beloved home can be at times. Many would argue that they are 'realists.' I'd say we need to invent a new word for them. 'people-who-are-only-too-happy-to-whinge-and-moan-about-things-they-can't-influencists.' It's a terrible condition.

Why on Earth would the RFL drop Wakey and Cas, who are considerably more successful on the pitch than Salford and who currently sit 1&2 in the under 18's league????

the problem is most people see Salford as Manchester just look at the companies who have addresses in Salford but stick Manchester as the address including the Lowry so we could be the Manchester club. |

Both Bradford and Hull KR have had a lot of work done over the last few years and luckily, speaking as a Bradford fan here, we were given a Catagory B licence. This may change this year but it does give us time to put into action the plans for a new and improved Odsal. The same can be said for Hull KR.
Its sad to hear Clubs like Salford are getting this kind of attention, I love coming to the Willows, but there are things that could and should be improved in the near future and the Club are well aware of this. The problem is the credit crunch and finances are tight and like Bradford attendances are falling meaning less money for the Clubs involved.
It's not a good situation but fact I'm afraid.

Ok, so it's not "Salford - keep us in SL cos we're near Manchester", it's "Salford - keep us in SL as we're easily mistaken for Manchester"!
Out of the "warned" clubs you are by far the weakest. |

Maybe but geographically we are based in area for RFL expansion unlike Wakey/Cas fighting for the same supporter. Yorkshire certainly is ripe for a reduction in number of SL teams.
