Christ Dugan's got some strength and a fair bit of pace too - he would do nicely.

What issues has he been having I guess is an important question?

Would be nice to think we have a chance of getting someone like this but is he worth the risk? I don't know why I just get the feeling we'll end up with Wellens which while not the worst thing not the type of FB I'd hoped for.

IMO it's not far off the worst thing, signing a 33 year old full back that can't get into another SL team just stinks of usual Salford. I know we're lucky to still have a club etc, but like everyone keeps saying, the honeymoon period is over and we should be leaving this type of signing in the past. For what it's worth I don't think we'll sign him anyway.

Yeah I agree, Dobson would be a tremendous signing much rather have him than Chase.

Dugan the current reports, his contract was also cancelled with The NRL which means any NRL club need to speak to the bigwigs to get any hope of signing him, considering they're pretty strict on punishment i think for now in the short term his options are union, AFL or SL.

Have you ever stopped to think that many of the players the club signed previously would have been influenced by club finances and their standing in Superleague? Just because the previous directors didn’t have huge buckets of money to attract the kind of players you would have liked, didn’t make the club stink.

It's kind of like a Man City supporter saying his club stank because the club could only afford or attract an ageing Peter Reid instead of a world class player like David Silva in his prime.

When heard the mail this morning I instantly thought of Salford putting a bid in for him, he's heavily linked to St George but like you said the NRL may de-register him opening up a short term move away from the NRL. As Josh was demanding over £400,000 a season at Canberra I think French rugby that has also been touted as a potential move for Josh is a more likely move than Salford.
