He's a big boy and he can handle it.
Doesn't make much sense in leaving him out.'"
Don't forget we'll be a ' Big Club ' now and we'll get ' Big Club ' ref's decisions . especially against unfancied clubs and a boosted vocal home support .. it all adds up
Last Year Most clubs were targeting our young half backs . Theo especially ,
Chase is more than capable of defending himself , sometimes legally + I'd like to see them try . with Morley , Hock & Hansen, Tasi & Griffin in attendance

Your in dreamland if you think Leeds and Salford would merge that will never happen: |

Oh aye, I'm sure that's how it unfolds in Shaun Wane's office.
"Who are we playing next weekend?"
"Salford boss."
"Oh right. Know owt about 'em?"
"Not really no, but it looks like there's some kind of fanzine message board we could have a look at."

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

I fail to see any point in not playing Chase as he offers that X factor, sure I can see him maybe getting inter changed with Theo every now and again if things aren't clicking but him and Smith will be first names on the sheet every week for me.'"
Hock will be "rested" plenty too, going off previous seasons....

However, this thread is making it appear as though without him appearing in the starting 13 the side is weaker;a great motivator to opposition coaches and players.
If,as it was when we hosted his former club on the opening fixture of 2012,the ground is frozen and he sustains an injury what better boost could there be for the future opponents.
With a big home crowd willing him to play well his frustration will have to be kept in check.I seem to recall some discipline issues when playing against Wakefield - perhaps their followers could enlighten us ?
Will the other squad members be under-cooked if called upon at short notice,if not given game time during the early part of the campaign ?
It may be that we are also putting undue pressure on him as he has experienced the disappointment of the World Cup campaign;moved home to be closer to Salford and may want to impress too much too early.
I have no doubt he will be in the starting line-up;but maintain the belief that a winning start could be obtained without him.'"
Please stop digging.
Your basic suggestion is just plain wrong

Someday, somewhere, today’s empires are tomorrow’s ashes.: |
|
| After the winter they've just had, I expect the Wakefield players and fans will be really fired up for this match. Red Devils PAW has a valid point here, because they'll be doing their best to wind the Salford players up, which could lead to all sorts of problems. I really think we need to consider not fielding a team for this fixture, but just have thirteen empty shirts on the field and four on the bench. I think Nobby should be protected too, and should send a shirt, pullover and stick of Wrigley's in his place. Only until we start playing the teams whose fans are incapable of making any sort of noise should we be thinking about putting players in those shirts. That'll be the Warrington game then.

| Genuinely excited at what Salford will bring to the SL in 2014. Obviously I want Wigan to win, but I'd love close games between Wigan/Salford Leeds/Salford Wire/Salford could only bolster the game.
Lets get some big crowds down to Salford, make it a 'can't be missed game'.
Bring on 2014!

Refreshing to read thank you. I agree, the more "big games" we can have in Super League can only be good for the sport and competition.

I can't say he gets any more stick than anyone else.
When playing for Cas he was the main man so everyone was stressed when he had the ball and cheered when he made a mistake, as he did in the last game and handed the result to us.
Happy if he does that again.

| If we threaten to be horrid to some others players will they be left out too? Wow, this opening fixture could be easier than I thought.
I wouldn't worry about Chase. He will play his usual high risk, off the cuff game regardless of the inevitable stick he'll get from the Trinity supporters. Some of it may work some of it may not but he can handle it mentally. He has before when there were doubts about his liberty a few years back.

That would be my 17 to start against Wakefield and hopefully put in a great performance.
Anyone else like to add their own changes?'"
If that lot gel quickly and stay injury free i can certainly see you in the top 6, maybe top four if others have an average season.
Shame they can't clone Marwan Koukash, Good look for the coming season.
