It's really important from a financial and crowd perspective that we get off to a good start next season. On paper, we have a good chance. Reality may be different though...

I'm sorry but I cant help but want 5 wins from those opening 6 games.

We just need to be patient, it could take a while for the team to gel but hopefully a decent pre-season sort that.

I think this is the best start to the season,fixture wise,that I can remember.
If there is a problem it's that we will be expecting 4 or 5 wins out of 6 and anything else will be seen as disappointing.
Clearly,nobody at the club will be taking anything for granted but it's all set up very well for a positive start.
Wakefield will certainly be up for it !

should be very interesting to see what the crowd will be for the Wakey game - I would have a guesstimate of 6,350

Top of the league and crowds the healthy side of 6k by mid March. Thats some turnaround from the same time in season 2013. Wish I could share your optimism. I would be content with 3 wins and crowds around 5k. Hope your closer than me though.

What's going on on the weekend of the 10th of May that's made us opt for a Saturday 6pm kick off (v Hull KR) without being forced to by sky?

Can't believe I hadn't noticed this before but someone on the VT has pointed out that our away game at Hudds on 6th July coincides with the Tour de France going through the Huddersfield area on that day. A nice bonus for those of us who were planning to be in the area for the race anyway but I would guess that traffic on the roads around Huddersfield will be pretty chaotic.

It's closer than the Huddersfield 'area', it goes under the 62 at Ainley Top, right down to the town centre, on to the ring road, then off to Holmfirth. I can imagine it being a bit chaotic with all the road closures.

Does look like a good start for your guys, however you're right we'll definitely be out to spoil the party.

Wakey always seem to be the sacrificial lambs opening weekend, 1st team to visit the Halliwell Jones, 1st up at Craven Park when Hull KR were promoted, 1st up at Widnes when they came up. Who knows what will happen but I would be very surprised if we didn't at least make you work very, very hard for that 1st win under the spotlight.
