| Am not sure about the ignored bit tho! If a player isn't good enough yet, then surely they need to go out on loan to develop. I don't think its fair to judge Iestyn on promoting youth after only a few months. I believe that the influence of Wigan on him will have this drilled into him. If the players aren't good enough they shouldn't play, if they are then they will. Look at Evalds for an example

| Quote: Nankivell "I maintain quite categorically that they are being both over trained and ignored. The two statements are not exclusive. Does it make sense to you that a loan player should train longer each week and be required to travel more than those selected for a Super League 17?
Other clubs make allowances for the training needs of the loan clubs. So, for example, if a player is expected to train with his loan club on a Thursday evening, he would not be required to do the full amount of training at his own club during the day.
This arrangement doesn't exist at SRD. The lads are expected to train all day with SRD, then go to the loan club and train some more. The fact that these younger, home-grown lads are expected to train to this extent might be assumed to be an interest in their development. That would be an incorrect assumption as they are there to provide an opposition to the players who the club has chosen to import.
Does it make sense that a team that looked tired last Sunday were flogged on Monday and have then been expected in at the club every day since, with no day off prior to tomorrow's match.
The club's methods fly in the face of both sports science and common-sense, stemming from an owner's view, with his vast knowledge of running a sports team, and failing to be corrected by a coach who knows better but seems to be unwilling to speak out for fear of his own future. That attitude pervades down the management chain.'"
I think valid points you are making are tainted by your own dislike of elements of the Club. It shows in nearly every post you make at the moment, and that's not a criticism it's an observation from afar. It's difficult for fellow forum users to discern the objective from the subjective. As a consequence, most will side with caution and highlight the subjective element in your opinion.

I've never so much ..... in all my life , having spoken in depth with the Coach , his assistant & the performance director , to imply the methodology of Salfords training his directed by MK is frankly ridiculous .

| Knowing Ian Watson quite well I very much doubt he would be influenced by non coaching members of your club.

| Even more after today I'm convinced that Krasniqi would be a cracking signing, a big lad who looks good in both defence and attack.

Salary cap - you're havin a laugh.: |

| Interesting quotes from Harris after game, saying "The players have had a tough week, and were always going to run out of energy towards the end."
Seems to tally up with the comments about being over trained above.

| Seems a daft comment.
I know zilch about training and conditioning but anything that makes you certain you'll run out of energy before the end isn't right, surely.
Will Widnes wait until the last 15 minutes to take advantage.
I don't think they'll need to but what if ?

| Don't shoot the messenger
Just been told Trent Waterhouse is Salford bound.
I know this will open the non fed bull.............. again, but this is a message and rumour bored and this is what I have been told.
he did also mention another name from warrington that I hope isn't true and I don't see any place for him in next years team. the person in question commanded a significant transfer fee. But where's the money

| only 12 months ago we were giddy with enthusiasm for the 2014 season ..
rlBig spending Salford announce 12 new signingsrl
12 months on...
Mullaney has signed for Bradford
Smith is back playing for Wakey
Hock has thrown in a transfer 1 year into his 4 year deal
Meli probably won't play for us again and there is doubts over Rapira, Puletua & Lee being with us next season. Morley will be Part time .
All in all a poor return on the Money ( and transfer fees) invested. so out of the 12 only S'au Tasi & the two Batley boys could be seen as half decent investments , Chase is still seen as an enigma, magical one game , annoymous the next.
Outside of Locke, recent signings have been ' ones for the future ' . but as far as I can see the revolving doors at the AJ Bell are still spinning.
I wouldn't write any rumour off , however far fetched .

| Quote: middleman "? Luke Menzies
Kyle Amor didn't start playing professional RL until he was 22- then despite being bought by Leeds he spent two seasons playing Championship RL with Whitehaven , then two seasons playing for Wakefield unremarkably . then in 2013 5 years into his career he had a storming season playing his 3rd season with Wakey , and is now one of Saints chief battering rams .
Chris Hill spent 6 seasons , playing various positions in Leigh's squad , after 5 years he became a regular fixture at Prop for Leigh in their Northern Rail Cup winning year , and ' got noticed ' by Warrington
Alex Walmsley - Batley , got Noticed by Saints
Hill , Walmsley & Amor are reputedly 3 of the best English Front row forwards playing in SL and non came through an orthodox SL academy structure.
so 2 points ;-
Props , take time to mature
some talent does get overlooked , more SL sides appear to be noticing Championship Players , especially forwards ,
they obviously see some potential , that may flourish given a full time training environment , and it's pretty low risk - as opposed to flying in overseas forwards who may not settle or be half as good as they think they are ..
You're right he deserves his chance and it would make a great good news story if he made SL level , some players have the talent & waste it ..some might just need the right time - right place .'"
Not strictly true with Kyle Amor - He was just as good in his first season with Wakefield as he was in his third - Only he seemed to get more exposure in his third with sky which to an outside looking in seems he just come good out of nowhere. But been a fan seeing him week in week out there was very little change apart from better players around him. Also played very well in his limited opportunities with Leeds (3 or 4 games) and I know Leeds fans rated him very highly and wanted him to play regularly, there was some upset when he was sent on loan to Wakefield. Also the year before (at 22 years old as you refer to) he was outstanding at Whitehaven, handed a trial for Leeds and took it with both hands.

Well, the doc might just have learnt not to go hunting big names. The sort of player we signed last year was good for keeping a team at the stop, but not to get a team to the top. We need hungry players like Josh Griffin, Walton, Tasi, Johnson and Walne, but we also need the mixture of experience and enthusiasm that Morley and Hansen bring.
Although I believe we need to bring some extra muscle into our pack, but there have been times where I've thought Hock wasn't chasing back hard enough. Far be it from to criticise him, but a younger/hungrier forward might have chased harder than I thought Hock was.
In summary, it seems the club now believe younger players might give us more effort for the doc's money.

| I agree us salford have wasted a lot of money but we needed a whole new team basically, going forward we've got the core of some quality players just a few tweaks here and there but if we come 9th this season is that not a successful season considering where we've come from? I mean next year is the real test but I have no doubts we'll make top8!

| I feel it's pretty difficult to critique our playing season as changing head Coach halfway and bringing in new players constantly is not exactly the idea of a team focused on achieving. It would also be unfair to judge harshly, as a Coach and team need that off-season to build the solid foundations of a successful season. So with that in mind I'll reserve judgement at this time next season. If a Club goes through upheaval it needs time to settle. Which brings me to my next point...
What I can judge from this season is the abilities and performance of the Club's earners not on the playing/staff roster. Which has been far from great, which is a shame as it's an area that should be making vast improvements as it's not tied-in with what goes on on the playing side of things. I still think we are falling short in most departments. We are still not getting the simple and cheapest things right. The Website is next to useless with little or no updating and has actually regressed. I'm getting no emails from the Club at all about anything, even though I'm on the email list. The over-reliance on Facebook as a means of communication is too narrow and the Owner uses Twitter as an effective tool in ramping-up the hate towards the Club. We should be getting bombarded off the Club from all directions. Not just the odd report from the SRD foundation. Matchday Centre has moved from its text-based incarnation (Which was well liked and became a discussion platform on top of action updates) to a phone-based app with real commentary done in an amateur way (Although I personally enjoy it when it works, it doesn't stop me from constructive criticism)
Where's Salford TV?
Where are the midweek training vids and interviews to build a game up?
When's the shop going to stop being a side thought?
When MK decides to put his mind to things he can be very effective but he's in danger of losing focus on the little things at Salford in favour of Twitter rants, becoming the RFL's nemesis, and being the focus of the Media instead of the Club.
On the whole, I'm disappointed that the Club (To me at least) seems to have changed little in its outward appearance of sloppy practice when it could and should have been the easiest thing MK could tackle.

On the 9th day, Satan created Salford.
A battle ensued through to to late on the 12th day.
A few hours later, a truce, and on the final stroke of midnight, Code 13 was created...
Heaven and Hell combined forces and delivered Salford Red Devils...a legacy is born!!!!!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_71248.jpg |

You're spot on IMO Butcher....
Another major area that they need to focus, is proof reading anything they put out - If anyone has a copy of yeterday's programme, have a look at the centrefold and spot the MASSIVE error... It's very disappointing from a sponsor point of view to say the least!!!!!
