Yet in true Salford fans style, have a guess what.... The moaning has started about a coach (not even confirmed yet) who likes to play with a big pack. You just couldn't write the script.........could you?'"
So all we need are three props like Kevin Ward with Andy Gregory’s hands. Not much to ask!

Interesting, perhaps, that he chose not to return to Wigan in 2008 but went to a young coach,Justin Morgan,at KR.

| Chico, we have on many occasions had three props with one set of hands between them, unfortunately not as good as Andy's. But seriously the right quality of big prop is essential, size alone guarantees nothing.

I've no idea why he went to Hull KR and you appear to be just speculating. I do find it odd that you were, and seemingly still are, positively suicidal about the sacking of Phil Veivers (a man who has essentially achieved nothing as a coach) and are now running some strange constant sniping campaign against a man who has won the bloody lot. In between, you also wanted Adrian Morley appointing as Head Coach. Crikey me!

Farish was very complimentary on Dobsons performance against us " he nearly beat us on his own ". so who knows. still only 26
He actually signed for Catalans Dragons as a20 yr old & Noble took him to Wigan half way through the 2006 season when he took over from Millward, Canberra Raiders took him back for the 2007 season then released him part way through the 2008 season to play for Hull KR , Other SL clubs who were interested in him ( Hull FC ) couldn't take him as they were quota full, but the Robins de-registered Webster who was out for the season to sign him rlhttps://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_league/super_league/hull_kr/7384713.stmrl .
I would guess it was the contract rather than the quality of Justin Morgans man Management that attracted him back to SL & the Robins.

There does seem to be speculation about the speculating or speculating about the speculation, but it is slightly interesting to see a low attendance at Castleford today - a club where the chief exec.resigned amid rumours of financial difficulties and where there appears to be unrest among supporters against the head coach,to see if they try and obtain the services of Noble -should the decision not be announced very soon.
rlIt appears there has been interest in the pastrl
Just speculation,of course.

I would think it highly unlikely that Cas will be pursuing Noble any time soon. As you state yourself these appear to be extremely worrying times for the Tigers financially. It's therefore highly unlikely, I'd suppose, that they'll be paying off Millward's contract any time soon.
Also, given that Noble reportedly decided against pursuing interest in the vacant position your link refers to due to concerns about the budget available (the same reason he apparently didn't want to discuss the vacant Salford position a few months prior), I fail to see why he'd suddenly become interested now that Cas are in an even more parlous situation.
Good effort though in trying to continue with your portrayal of Noble as the coach that nobody else wants.

An incorrect assumption. It appears he is the coach who is the most popular choice.
In keeping with the thread I was hinting at a quick appointment - unless Noble has been assured of the position,I was indicating he may be lured elsewhere.

| If the Doctor really has chosen then he needs to speed up the announcement and implementation .
Not sure what the delay is,apart from wanting to make a splash.
We need a new coach badly and he needs to choose his own back room team.
If its Hunte and Long that's fine,if it isn't thats also fine.
Just appoint him .
We need reinforcements quickly.

Could not agree more! Players need stability & we need more players! I'm hoping the delay is because we will be announcing some signings as well. Been told its going to be this week at some point but as we have a resurgent Hull FC on Saturday I'd rather it was announced Monday/Tuesday.

| could it be that were waiting for Brian Smith to gain his visa and this has been the holdup? and then once resolved, both the Brian's will be unveiled? It could be the case as someone has been pulling the strings behind the scene's with the likes of the gaskell signing so could Smith be working from afar?

Jokes aside about the misfortunes of Clubs, sadly its the nature of the game. Still think teams need to merge to survive. Time will tell.
Time will also tell if my sources are correct in their whispers that Justin Morgan has in fact been thrown into the mix for both the Castleford job and this one. He's got a good head on his shoulders and his recruitment was good at Hull KR. And it's obvious that where ever he goes Dobson will follow as a result of that sinking ship. Think there could be more to poach if he returns to the Super League. Noble and Morgan are good mates from their days on the BBC, perhaps there will be a similar set up to Hull FC, although I do believe that Morgan can stand on his own two feet.
Morgan's wife has also started a business here targeting player welfare, my sources say she met with the RFL last week. Could be interesting.

32990_1435324474.jpg First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32990.jpg |

| Manchester Evening News state today that Noble may not want to commit to a long term deal, why? Makes you wonder what the reason is for this? Or is this just fabricated speculation by the media in response to frustration at the delay in appointing a new coach?
It needs sorting this week IMO because many followers I know are now raising questions and doubts about what's going on at the club after all the big talk. I really hope for the sake of the club that an appointment is made soon to put an end to all this because people aren't going to buy into this dream until they see some proof.

| I have been saying for 6 weeks now that my choice would be Brian Smith with Longy as attack and John Kear as defense and Hunte as Acadamy coaches. As long as a structure is put in place before the end of the season it is no good rushing anything now as no significant signings can be made at this time of the compaign. We as Salford fans have got to thank our lucky stars we have still got a club to support and hopefully with a bright future. I personally am looking forward to an exciting close season to see what squad we assemble for next season and actually have a proper build up to a new future. An uptodate website, season ticket offers, a club shop with more than a mug on sale ha, ( i have 7 now ). Keep the faith. I have been waiting 44 years to go back to Wembley.

| Couple of points.
If Noble doesn't want a long term deal that works perfectly, have him until the end if this year which gives him ample time to bring some structure to the team and all the time work on helping the club with the long term coaching appointment after the World Cup. I'd also be very surprised if he did take the coaching job in this capacity that when he's overseen the appointment of his successor that a position within the club isn't found for him as you can see Noble being a great person to have in a Lowe type role.
People shouldn't worry about the wealth of the Doc, someone I've been to quite a few games with knows the head of C4 racing and when asked about the Doc he said he is extremely rich (he gave a figure which really means that even his dream of buying into the stadium is not going to really dent his coffers).
I think the cautious approach to the coaching position is a good one as some of the Docs early comments you did worry about knee jerk reactions, you can guarantee his board are offering him the advice he needs.
