Someday, somewhere, today’s empires are tomorrow’s ashes.: |
|
| Quote: theredshed "Does anyone think the decision was influenced by the failure to attract targeted players? Perhaps the club feel a big name coach will help their ambitious recruitment drive.'"
In the three known cases - Morley, Chase and Tomkins - it's been the player's current club that's rejected the bid, not the player. Having a big name coach wouldn't have made any difference.

Vievers is First Coaching Casualty of 2013Salford City Reds have parted company with coach Phil Veivers just five games into a season which has seen them with just a single win. New millionaire owner Dr Marwan Koukash was furious after Salford's capitulation to London Broncos on Friday night and made it clear that no-one would be safe from his ambitious plans for a Red future.
Veivers follows director of football Steve Simms, and commercial director Tina Wilkinson, who left the club earlier and he has been replaced by Alan Hunte, in a caretaker role ahead of next weekend's match at Wakefield Wildcats.

| He showed commendable loyalty but I'm not sure what his alternative options were.
It's the correct decision and doesn't mean that the Doctor is trigger happy,it just means that he fancies his own man in position.
I'm happy to follow Lowe's recommendation for the replacement,as he knows better than us.
I just hope that,at Wakefield, team changes are made despite the limited options available

| Well his House looks fine, His Business looks Good and he pays £150k per month in training fees for his horses. I dont know the answer to your question though so if you know better then please let us in on the news. It seems the Council & Peel are happy with him and they will have done due diligence checks I would guess.

| Veivers ends with the second highest win/loss % of any Salford coach in Super League after as many games. Though seeing as there is only a game between Gregory, him and Harvey, it's not saying much.

| Try and find any evidence of his multi-millions....there isn't any...His horseracing activities show prize money of a million pounds in over a hundred races which probably means a net loss...The only other traceable activity is as an arranger of corporate seminars...no multi-millions in that.

| Some right bobbins being put out in Twitter at the mo...every man and his dog being linked...the general consensus seems to be favouring an Aussie coach but historically they have never produced at Salford ...Tamati, McRea Parrish etc.....whats wrong with British?..Hunte's done a great job with the young uns....wouldn't mind seeing what him and Longy can do for a bit then review the situation again..he might not have the profile the Doc wants as head coach...but Alan has respect in the game...young British coaches need an opportunity

I imagine it's because all the advisers in senior positions are Antipodeans.

32990_1435324474.jpg First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32990.jpg |

I know that but if the player makes it known he wants to leave that can make his club take a different view on the situation.
