| Quote: Wakefieldite "Hi Salford fans. I would like to share so information that I've just posted on the Wakefield board just now.
Been doing some research and I can confirm the following nearest boozers for the match
The Britannia is shut these days, so the nearest one is now The Centurion which is just over the canal, 5 minutes walk from the ground. Tons of pubs in the town centre as I'm sure plenty of Salford fans will already be aware!

Maybe because they've sold something like 17000 tickets already. And the clue's in the name really, Wigan-Saints.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try

As I've been saying to others Walshy we can't blame sky, Sale or the Stadium company. We have signed a contract with Sky as have every other super league club allowing them to move games to when they want. They have done this every season since super league started, they want the most important games on at this time of the year and who can blame them? Its Salford who should be held responsible for this if we had our own stadium as promised all them years ago we wouldn't be in this mess now and wouldn't have to share a ground. It all goes back to poor management by the powers that be who have put is in this situation.

Number of ticket sold and its been heavily promoted as the JoiningJack charity game in which both teams are wearing special shirts. And obviously its Wigan v Saints they don't mess with these games this close to the fixture.

Its not PPV so if your already subscribed to Sky Sports they've already got your money so not watching it does nothing really.

The wider problems are all Salford's fault but people ranting on Facebook saying 'do you want us to have fans etc?' over the Leigh thing is stupid. Some of us, you included, knew Salford had put us in this mess long ago so there's no point blowing a gasket when an inevitable thing like this happens and pretend it's a big shock. People not going on Saturday isn't going to help Salford or bother Sky one iota.
What a contrast between the way Wakefield as a club has pulled together in recent timnes under a new impressive owner and the stagnant slow death we are enduring.
As for Sky, I for one blame them for wanting to, and being allowed to, televise games as and when they please and not only that shift people from their home ground onto neutral territory.

| It's the fault of Sky.
Not much we can do about it as a Club. The extra Sky money for the Club is always welcome so they do what they have to.

| If I'm still undecided after reading who everyone else is blaming, I find it hard to look any further than Simms.

45914.gif I call them when they deserve it,
I praise them when they deserve it.
I support the club not individuals.
No one is bigger than Salford:45914.gif |

| I hate union, but even I can see its not their fault. Its daft for people to expect them to move, when they will have a big opening and attract a big crowd.
When your sharing a ground stuff like this is going to happen. Its just another nail our coffin.

| What would have happened if we hadn't thrown the towel in on reaching the playoffs 5 weeks ago? Could we have found ourselves playing a playoff decider on a neutral ground? We have to make sure that (unless the RFL take the common sense decision of playing all of the last weekend's fixtures at the same time) if we are at home on the lat weekend of a season then Sale should play away to ensure the ground is free for all possible final weekend slots.

| If this fixture attracts a reasonable crowd and is deemed a relative success, look out for it happening again should Sale progress to the later stages of the Henieken Cup or even their end of season play offs. The lower the attendance the better in my eyes.
No need for the mock outrage towards the club on the facebook page. Yes it is the clubs fault we are in a shared facility, however you can hardly blame the club for a tv company being able to change a game with 5 days notice to a date which has been known to be unavailable for the last 2 months. The main reason Sale is on the Saturday is because it clashed with our original Friday night fixture. Then ESPN decided to move it from 3pm to 4.30pm.
