Generally positive first impressions, despite the new stadium looking a bit like it's been based on a Lego model. It's quite different from any other similar sized new-build soccer or RL ground that I've ever been to, and the views from the main stand are pretty good, even at the back. And even if the rugby on the playing field proves not to be up to scratch, you can always watch the traffic thundering by (or crawling by, as the case may be) on the high level bridge.

Not sure that the car parks at the stadium are big enough at present though (there's still quite a lot of undeveloped scrub-land around the stadium that could potentially be used), or where folk refused entry because they haven't booked in advance will end up. (Overspill at Barton Airport perhaps?)

Nope your wrong, the away section is now the north stand closest to the motorway. The south stand is the home section.

He's right though. Lots of supporters are going to.just turn up expecting to park up and are going to be in for a shock. I can imagine quite a few turning around and going back home!

Got to agree they are making it over complicated and it will I'm sure have people buggering off home on game days when they can't park.

Or they'll probably end up allowing the AWAY supporters in to avoid any potential aggro. As regards HOME fans? Answers on a postcard please!

Main stand impressive , seats and view are fine.The other three are scaled down versions of the stands at the Halliwell Jones and not impressive at all., The two end terraces don`t look to offer decent views, suppose we`ll find out at the Leigh game.
Food and drink seemed pretty standard , must admit there was a marked improvement with the tea and coffee compared with the Willows.As for the beer etc on offer nothing there to tempt me.
Think our new home is going to take some getting used to.
The pre purchase car parking ticket is going to end in tears for the Stadium Company , they really do need to think again. I have no problem with the charge at the stadium its on a par with Wigan and Huddersfield to name but two.Five quid to have an undamaged car at the end of the game is a small price to pay.

As I didn't attend the event on the 27th it's perhaps wise not to comment. However, may I ask those that did attend whether they believe the new stadium to be, as the club describes on a regular basis, "iconic" or "world class?"
