| For me we should be keeping Henry. He hasnt been as effective this season as hes been playing right centre, in left centre hes much more effective, rarely misses tackles and scores tries. Also I thought Swain was offered a 1 year deal. whats happened with that???

He wanted a 2 year deal but we've shown no signs of offering it.

| Says in today's MEN that Henry's agreed terms to stay on next year, great news!
Also says we are looking at Chris Nero from Bradford to replace Willie Talau, that would be a good move, i'd love to see him play along side Jodie Broughton. Looks like were also interested in Stuart Reardon and Micheal Worrincey, not such great news!

How many quota spots do we have?
Quota for next season:
Henry
Cashmere
Holdsworth
Patten?
Plus if we sign Wild at Loose, doesn't luck like there will be much room for Swain.

I doubt greatly that Swain will be here next season, I can take or leave him personally, he's an honest, 80 minute worker who'll tackle his heart out but he offers us very little going forward and as a loose/pivot he's not creative at all. I'd like to see Wild at loose, there isn't much in the stats between the two but it does free up the quata spot.
As for Henry, I'd been hoping we'd pulled out all the stops to keep him, I doubt you'll find another centre of his quality on the money he'll be on as good as him. I think you'd need to bring in an international to replace him IMO. f this news is correct then I'm a very happy man.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr:7891.jpg |

| I to am more than happy about henry staying put, but if we go anywhere near Worrincey everyone on the coaching staff deserves sacking he's disgarcful. Infact Tyrer did his best to loose the game for us, ditto Worrincey for them!!

Nero would make sense, not spectacular but very solid (and again he doesn't count on the quota, he's Italian don’t you know )
Warrincy he's only 24 and he appears to make plenty of yards forward but his defence and handling are bobbins. So no thanks.
Reardon, thanks but defiantly no thanks. After his recent past I wouldn't go near him.

unless there's an about-turn with Alker the only one I've heard us linked with is the Catalan - Aus/ Kane Bentley.
otherwise they might be looking at a change of role for a half back ...

| Lets remember these are only rumours, there's nothing to suggest the club aren't looking at signing a hooker or anybody else for that matter, or the may already have a guy lined up that the rumour mill hasn't picked up on!

| It is very strange that we haven't ben linked with a replacement hooker yet. Clearly its one of the most important positions we need to fill and the RFL rumour mill isnt exactly the most secret of societies! To not even hear a whisper of a possible replacement worries me slightly- although it is very early days with clubs 'supposedly' not being able to contact players til Septemeber.

| I think i would have Readon back if it was possible, he was very good during his spell here and if we were to sign him im sure here @ salford he would be able to get his game back in order and he wouldnt be the 1st player we have signed who has "sined" in a previous life away from our club so for him it would be viewed as a last chance salloon.
As for the hooking role \ halfback dilemma for me M smith has to stay @ 7 because he has too many bad reads defensively and i wouldnt want any gaping holes up the middle, im sure with the experience M smith has gained this season his defence has improved a little and will improve further the more superleague he plays.
Another reason for keeping m smith @ 7 is the partnership between him and the wizard is begining to click like a athritic hip, why would we change a positive aspect to our game and gamble on the wizard n a new scrum half linking up as well.
The hooking role is a important part of rugby league, Alker and Jezza this season have shared the role and after a question mark over game time and how to break it up it seems the right balance has been struck.
If both are leaving i just hope the club spend the money wisely, Clarke and Higham from warrington may be one option (wire might let one go but not both i suspect ) the hooker from celtic with long hair seems to be getting a few rave reviews too and is only on a short term contract i think might be worth a look.
smith from widnes might be another option, ive always rated him, he seemed to have stood still in his development in recent years and with widnes still at present outside the superleague he might feel salford could be a venture he wants to undertake in the future
