Most of our young players are from Wigan, Warrington etc. Presumably they only sign for Salford because they are not deemed good enough, at that time anyway, to be offered contracts by their home town club. Therefore we are always going to be playing catch up as in general we are signing a lower standard of youngster than our rivals. It is harsh but true. It is essntial that we develop more Salford born and bred players who want to sign and play for Salford instead of relying on other areas.
