| I'm gobsmacked, I thought Patten was your best player and dragged you back into the game - well we all see it differently I suppose.

Patten is class. Sadly he seems to be the scapegoat for many, probably because he is our most high profile player.

No shame there, our under 20's are very good and they won't play worse than that all season - could possibly win the title.

| Karlos..........get real Man!
If all Patten had to do was 'tick' someone to stop them he still couldn't prevent a try. Why..........because he's not even in the vacinity when the opposition breaks or crosses our line.
He has ALWAYS flattered to deceive. No wonder he's retiring, he damn well knows his game is up.
He's not a scapegoat, he a genuine reason that we leak points like a seive.
Don't believe me.............look at some recordings or simply watch the next game..........His tackling is not poor IT'S NONE EXISTANT.

I thought patten would be our very own super star but he's failed miserably, his game shows that he's used to playing in top class sides who rarely concede, don't get me wrong his attack is brilliant at times but tbh a fullbacks job is the read the play when in defence and if a break was to occur he'd have it covered before anything else could escalate. But he's always out of position and he's not eger enough to return a kick n chase he let's the ball bounce at times when it should be covered immediately I believe all the years at Canterbury he was used to being helped out (carried) by other players, an with them having world class players a cross the board probably didn't get into situations like he does playing for Salford.

| I assume it's Patten's fault when players are pretty much walking through the first line of defence with ease?

| How were the try's Pattens fault? Their four try's were all conceded from within 20 meters of our try-line? Which is down to a number of things
inability to make one on one tackles, 3 times we had the correct numbers just couldn't put the man down
indiscipline/ unforced errors, penalties ok in the first half weren't a massive problem only conceded 2, twice on the first tackle we lost the ball trying to push the pass & score on every play. We need to build pressure better keep the opposition pinned in their own half, making them kick from deep
which brings me nicely on to my next point, opposition are making far too many yards in the tackle, almost every set they had, they got to their kick in an attacking position and even ran the last tackle 4 times because they were already in our twenty which meant at worst they would turn the ball over & make us bring the ball away from our line
And finally our forwards just are not rolling their sleeves up and making the hard yards, everybody who knows rugby league, knows that every game is won and lost upfront, they set the platform for the likes of Patten, holdsworth and moon to show what they can do with ball in hand. And allow smith to get us good field position with his excellent kicking game which, as everybody saw in the second half allows him to control the game & direct play
The first time we did all of the above was the set Wakefield previous to Nero's try, how is any of the above Pattens fault?

There's only so far you can "roll your sleeves up" to be fair. The harsh reality is that our pack isn't Super League quality.

Fact is ,our pack would only probably be bench warmers at any other super league club.
Maybe Gledhill will be an improvement when hes fit.
When Boyle played the other week , he showed some real passion, but seems to hane fallen out of favour.....

| Just watching the replay now. In the 12th minute when Wakey went over near the sticks .Feka just stood there and let the man run straight through him from 2 yards out!!!!!!!!! Didnt even attempt a tackle---- If hes not going to put the effort in -----DONT PLAY HIM.

| I counted 4 occasions when we coughed up the ball on the first tackle...Just not good enough !!!
Moon had a shocking game in defence as well. [ not that Im trying to single any one player out for that performance]
When will they learn about discipline. Again too many stupid /crucial penalties given away.
I bet we are the most penalised team in the league ?
It all went wrong from the start. We started with Feka , but that backfired, his tackling was abysmal as were his slow play the balls[ so were everyone elses as well ] which means we were on the back foot from the start, trying to come away from our own line time and again.
If he is going to play he should come on only as an impact player.
We really need fast play the balls and scoots from dummy half to catch them on the back foot and gain much needed yardage.Wilkes showed how to do it in the first half, he ran in hard and offloaded every tackle..

| As a Cas fan I empathise but at least you played more footy in the last 10 minutes than we've played all season.

But Castleford won at Wakefield !
The MEN reports 22 missed tackles,so it makes it very difficult to lay the blame on one player.
It was awful.I trust the coaches and players to correct it and have it much better on Sunday.
