| Quote: Red Preacher "Correct. He's got a lot of growing to do yet. And, may I just point out that it's not just a case of "bulking up" over the off-season. Adding muscle mass takes a long time for most and should be done properly or you end up with players body's breaking down, way before their time. (Paul Sculthorpe was a prime example of this.) (Assuming that Owen even has the genotype to bulk-up)
Give the lad time me thinks!'"
Following a strict diet and the right training programme a lot of extra strength can be achieved in 6 months. If you take Richie Myler as an example he doesn't have the genotype to ever be a big muscular player but he's been very well conditioned and that's what Owen will benefit from.

IMO, I would bulk him up abit in the close season and develop him as our interchange hooker for next year. He looks better than Jezza (But I dont think thats to difficult to achieve) and he is a product of our youth system. Just needs some more size.'"
He's only 17 though isn't he? While I have been impressed by what I've seen from him so far, it's probably a little early to start expecting him to make a proper step up to the first team.'"
Think we have got a gem in Gaz Owen, what does it matter if he is only 17, if he is good enough, he is old enough. A good off-season with all the senior players & who knows, next season could be a revelation for him he could be just what we are looking for, he's not afraid who's infront of him as we all saw the tackle he made on Korki & he was in there pushing Cashmere over the line.

I'm sorry to contradict but I'm actually a strength and conditioning coach. (Retired) Indeed, it's possible to achieve a certain degree of growth over 6 month period but not guaranteed. His body may not/never be ready for such gains. Give him time and hope he responds to the training and nutrition would be my view on him.

I'm sure a close season with a balanced Diet and plenty of ' medicinal Compound ' ...and an assistant coach named Malcolm Alker , oh and a trip to Majorca to sort out those shiney legs

With that in mind with my guesses for the two signings are Judas
Very much doubt Robinson is going to return.
As mentioned previously in Optimist's post, if Morley really wanted to lead Salford out in their last season at the Willows and their first in the new the stadium, Warrington might understand and come to an arrangement with our club. He's been a fantastic servant for them so they might take his request quite amicably, the whole issue could even have been part of a gentlemans agreement when we let Warrington talk to Myler. At the end of the day, it all depends on what Morley wants!!!!
Not getting my hopes up though.

| Quote: The optimist "Judas and the massive signing are two seperate people if you follow smithys criptic clues, following simmses tactics in this years transfer market both are still involved in the playoffs because we only announce signings when they are out of the playoffs, not being retained by their club OR the new signings are not vital cogs in the running of their team.
To my knowlege we havt been linked to anyone officallly or unofficially could mean 1 of 2 things
1) salfords offer to eather or both is astronical and if anything gets leaked the it gets pulled and the deal is off so its in the best interest for the player and their management team to keep quet about it, because the only way we the fans get the rumours in the 1st place is though the players agent hawking his client round the clubs and people talk.
2) The judas and the star still are under contract @ their current club but feel the strain of traveling to their current club and want to move back nearer to their home, years on contracts can be easily bought out when you have a unhappy player perhaps a deal between the clubs for a preseason friendly with the club selling taking all the gate rather than the usual 50/50 split plus a sweetener in the deal can be a deal maker.
So with that in mind, my guess judas will be under contract, he'll be a vital cog in his team, he'll play for somebody who he has to travel a distance too his usual "lift" will be leaving the club also (possibly retiring) so he'd have to find his own way there he wont want to unsettle anyone by announcing he wishes to leave, that will happen when his team leaves the playoff, when he does leave he'll probably say the traveling did my head in and thank his old club for the release.
The star will probably be a leader figure recon slightly older, he wont want to talk about his future in the press just about what his team will do / has done or he'll be currently injured and not doing any talking, everyone will just presume he'll just sign a rolling contract after the playoffs but he'll sign for us instead he'll be seen a statement of intent by us and may turn a few heads in the rugby league world.

Think Smithys highlighting the fact that in some french rugbyleague website that Millward has been appointed assitant coach and Mcrae may be now looking over his shoulder at his replacement
Would that be the case Smithy?

So are you saying Mcrae will be out sooner than we think and Millward will be our head coach at the start of the season?
