Seriously though he's got to go and it would be a minor miracle if he survived.

| Think it's pretty obvious he will do as it looks like the good Dr is already bringing together a team of his own.
Just read the article above which on the face of it makes worrying reading but then you have to consider that the Dr seems to be a pretty astute businessman who seems to get what he wants. I'd personally like to see him bring in Brian Noble to do Simms job as he still has the respect of all in the RL community and he seems to have RL flowing through his veins.

| Thanks to lance I see the knives are out for Steve.
He is a paid employee of the Company and has operated at the behest of the current unpaid Board of Directors to complete the tasks they have given him over the years.
As you know he is a family man, married to the lovely Ann - sister of our own Kenny Jones - and presently he remains the main breadwinner of the family.
For him to lose his job would be catastrophic for his family just as it would be for yours lance.
The good Doctor at present hasn`t bought the club and he must make his own decisions entirely and I would be right behind him in whoever he employs but it would be wrong for this witch hunt to continue until the take over is complete.
Sometimes its `better the devil you know than the devil you don't`

If he does take over, lets hope he makes the right decision,by the way what about the four coaches that have gone on his watch did they not have family,s,was it not catastrophic for them,or was they all in the wrong and
deserved it.

Terrible for the family of course but that is life, that is sport. He is member of the footballing face of the club and it is well within the purview of fans to discuss whether he should retain his position. We should all be here for the good of Salford RLFC, not for good of the people who currently occupy positions within it. The lines got blurred in this respect along time ago by some fans.
I've got the newspaper article from The Advertiser when Simms was appointed, it contains words to the effect of 'what Simms job will actually entail is still unclear' - if ever one line summed it all up.

Not really, because the 'devil we know' means the extinction of the club, unless you've seen Wilky's robust business plan and it's set to generate £291k over the course of the two Wigan games?

The current directors have been here far too long and I think for most it's not necessarily been by choice. It’s been said many times over recent years that the directors were prepared to step down should the right investor(s) come forward.
It’s just a shame for everyone connected with Salford that the club were so close to going out of business before the recent interest of a takeover.
These 'dead wood' comments are in my view below the belt and disrespectful to the people who have financially supported this club for many years, whilst no doubt hoping that other investors would step forward and have the appetite to takeover from them.'"
The comments are not disrespectful to anyone, I made the comment purely based on facts. The people who have financially supported us over the years are now unable to and that's fine, but as I've said that's exactly what they are, 'dead wood'. We need a clear out of all the current regime, from top to bottom, fresh ideas, money and people with some business acumen will work wonders for the club.

| More importantly will Salford survive to see February , Simms is the least of my worries , don't believe he is the pantomine bad guy some posters make him out to be. If we make it into new ownership I can't see the new guy warming to the architects of our present mis-management.

Fair enough I agree with your views, I just thought your comment in the previous post was a bit tactless that's all.

Maybe, maybe not. It seems his role is largely administrative, and, on that basis, it's difficult for those of us outside the club to judge whether he's been successful in that role or not. That said, I suspect that there will be a complete change at the top and that he probably will go.
I will say, though, that people I know who have sponsored matches in the past tell me there's more to Steve Simms than meets the eye, and certainly more than he gets credit for on here.

Where did I say you'd offended me?
As for the 'Save Steve Campaign', no, I won't be starting it. If the new administration decide he should go, then he should go. They know better than we do. As I've already said, we're not really in a position to judge whether he's been successful or not, which is why I find your one man 'Sack Simms' campaign a bit infantile. No offence.
