You know, I was a tad critical of Bradford on another thread but this post has got me a bit emo'. Good on you 'Cleck Bulls.' It takes real bravery to humbly ask for help like this. Hopefully some cash will come your way as a result!

| I understand your request comes from the heart and would not want to see any long term established club go to the wall. We do need to protect our traditional clubs like Bradford. However, the fact that you are paying top players what will be good wages while it is universally recognised that Salford are lacking in the same area concerns me. Asking other clubs fans to save your club while the players cream off the proceeds does not sit well.
If the players take a pay cut a la Rangers FC then I think more sympathy may come your way. I don't suppose past history of salary cap breeches does you much good. The suspicion may be that perhaps the money has disappeared to players wives bank accounts for cleaning the offices etc etc
I hope the club sort it for the ordinary Bradford fans who deserve better and are being let down right now.

| I do hope for the players and fans that the club survive but what really annoys me about this is the fact that they were living beyond there means when they had the likes of the Paul brothers , vagana , hape, volcano, Harris etc.... and winning all these trophies where the likes of are selfs in the same period knew we couldn't afford these type of players and stuck to what we could afford and ending up getting relegated for it

| Having just read the latest comments from the Bradford directors I find it amazing that they seem to be expecting the fans to sort out their mess and aren't contemplating selling any players or asking for a deferral in wages at least. I am aware it's not the players fault at all but it most certainly isn't the fans fault! If they are that close to going bust and are hoping to bring more young players through, as they say, surely it is their duty to invite reasonable offers for some of their players instead of giving out 5 year contracts knowing full well they can't honour them without the fans putting their hands in their pockets again! As hard as it would be for Bulls fans to see their star names sold, surely it is better that than have no club at all?! It just staggers me that these directors are just expecting the fans to bail them out. If the players don't get paid on time next month are they automatically available on free transfers as a breach of contract by the club?

| I'm a little torn on the subject.
I hate to see any RL Club struggle and as a strong advocate of the 'RL Family' I'm really hoping that something can be done with Bradford. What concerns me is the way that Bradford has been run, and in some instances unfairly to the rules and stipulations of the RL Code of conduct (Does that really exist?) Gambling the Clubs fortunes and bending the rules in the past should sit uneasily with most fans and the current situations that 'unfashionable' Clubs have had to deal with for years and didn't gamble is a situation which Bradford should have adopted seasons ago. The fact that the RL Family were happy for Wakey/Widnes to drop off the radar without a great deal of support and I ask the question that if we were in the same situation could we expect the same treatment?

| If Salford went bust I genuinely think no-one would care expect our small minority of fan. People would argue that rugby has never kicked off round this area even when we was in our pomp. We only get 4k - 5k fans and 8k if against big sides while we on a run whilst Bradford are getting 10k plus each time. Wasn't it not long ago when the record crowds were regularly being set at Odsal when they played Leeds? I think if we went bust we will easily go the way of our close neighbours the Lions! There is another club in it's former glory that used to post good crowds on Station Road.

| I've posted this on the Bradford site, but IMHO anyone who gives £100 without getting a share certificate in return, to the same directors, board and management team that got Bradford into this mess is being naive in the extreme. By asking the fans to come up with half a million but offering nothing I think the Bradford directors are taking the p**s out of their own community.
The response I got on their site was "yes the board are cr@p but we can sort that out after we've ensured the club's survival" - mmmm I wonder?

| Although i hate to see RFL teams go to the wall, the bulls have obviously been mismanaged to ever get in this situation. so IMO it's tough titties, Crusaders had to start afresh, so why can't Bradford. I think the bulls fans have a cheek scrounging for cash off us RFL clubs. Put SCR in the same position and the whole of superleague would wave SCR goodbye. Who's to say if the bulls get bailed out they won't be mismanaged again into this situation. Bad management should be penalised. If i was a bulls fan, i'd prefer a new start in a lower league with new owners rather than to be saved and running the risk of the same management team making the same mistakes.

| DI - Thought I would never say this but you are totally correct on this one.
Barton also right - give to a third party not the club - ringfence it.

| An even better scam, now you can buy a ticket that doesn't get you into the game v Leeds - it just allows you to give them £20 for which you get precisely nowt. Apparently fans of other teams will be more comfortable with that than just donating. Can you spot the difference? Is it April 1st already??

Maybe we should try it - we'd be able to spend at the full salary cap if only about 3000 people bought a ticket with no intention of turning up every week

| Only differance with Swinton is we the fans never got the chance to do anything to save Station Rd, it was a deal done under handedly with a corrupt board and similar council, by the time news broke it was signed sealed and delivered. I do know that the Lions trust are considering sending a donation to Bradford and as rugby fans first and foremost i'd like to think that would be extended to any club in difficulty. Personally i'm of yhe opinion cut your cloth accordingly.!

| why send a donation to Bradford they are paying the price of playing to the full salary cap on an income that can't sustain the wages, season ticket sales don't cover it and hoping that £100,000 comes through the door extra for each home match is not a great management plan, plus getting rid of your only physical asset will not endear you to the bank. i think they are a lost cause for this season and we will lose 2 points because of it.

and supporters who paid for a season ticket will be getting one game less for their money !
Twice this lot at the RFL have done deals with clubs who let the sport, and it's supporters, down.
Having a lack of vision is possibly the nicest thing that can be said.
