| Do you honestly think Warrington will allow their best forward, possibly the best forward in the league leave? I think not! He is contracted for next season anyway!!

Salary cap? They've brought in Brett Hodgson and he won't have come cheap.

| Brian Noble said on teletext that he's unsure of his future and Smithy has mentioned him a few times and he says the Mcrae days are numbered

Insane teacher be there reminded of the rhyme.

| The rumours in the press suggest Noble is off to Australia.
Of course our coach's days are numbered: could be 30 or could be 3653!

That doesn't stack. Why would the club make 8 new signings influenced by the existing coach and then replace him before the start of the new season? If the coach was to be replaced then surely the club would have held off making any new signing announcements until the coach had gone.
I think with Smithy it's a case of make enough guesses and eventually you'll get one or two right!

Isnt it Simms who makes the signings though? I agree though, I think Mcrae will be our coach next season, I cant understand why Smithy has said that

No it's Simms role only to negotiate terms with the players and their agents, leaving McRae to concentrate on his coaching duties. The coach will always have to give his agreement to who the club approaches/signs.
I'd imagine Simms & McRae had a meeting with the directors weeks ago with a list of out of contract players. From this they would have selected their targets with a few back up targets should any of their main targets fall through.

How else he going to know whats what?
Strainge one with mcrae in the metro yesterday went with the head line "Happy ending for mcrae" and in the match report Mcrae "felt it was mission accomplished" that we finished 12
why would it be mission accomplished if you had 12 months left on your contract? for what its worth for the 1st time in his rein he has a complete team full of "his players" it looks like he's got his assistant coaches in place to coach and he can now sit in his ivory tower with all the stats and fact and make decitons rather than try and coach them.

| Well we can scratch Fielden and Coley of any list we may have compiled, they've both signed new deals at Wigan.

| Do we really need Paul Mcshane from Leeds when we have all seen what young Gaz Owen has to offer.
IMO, I would bulk him up abit in the close season and develop him as our interchange hooker for next year. He looks better than Jezza (But I dont think thats to difficult to achieve) and he is a product of our youth system. Just needs some more size.

He's only 17 though isn't he? While I have been impressed by what I've seen from him so far, it's probably a little early to start expecting him to make a proper step up to the first team.

Correct. He's got a lot of growing to do yet. And, may I just point out that it's not just a case of "bulking up" over the off-season. Adding muscle mass takes a long time for most and should be done properly or you end up with players body's breaking down, way before their time. (Paul Sculthorpe was a prime example of this.) (Assuming that Owen even has the genotype to bulk-up)
Give the lad time me thinks!
