An offhand comment in the media months ago and people are still bearing a grudge over it! FFS!

| Salford are not the only club interested as has been documented. The Cas Board of Directors will therefore now be able to put a fee on him. Remains to be seen if they decide to be sensible or alternatively price Chase out of the game.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll

You can't villainise somebody for something they haven't done. Many people make impulsive remarks in frustration and never actually carry out their threats.

| To all the distraught cas fans have a look at two of the four halfbacks at Wembley on Saturday and you will see two were Salfords halfbacks last year. We lost them to club's offering them more and had to accept it and move on. like one of the sports few sponsors says man up.

| I’m loving the bitterness and jealously from Cas fans. I would usually be sympathetic towards a club who are losing their best player to another with more financial muscle, as it’s happened to us more than enough (Nathan McAvoy, Scott Naylor, Terry O’Connor, Andy Coley, Luke Robinson, Jordan Turner, Richie Myler, Stefan Ratchford, Matty Smith, Joel Moon, Daniel Holdsworth – to name just a few) but I wish nothing but the worst for these lot. They have shown zero class since the whole Chase to Salford deal was leaked months ago.

| Don't tar everyone with the same brush though! IF Chase moves to Salford it could allow Cas to build a larger and stronger squad than we have now. After all, we have hardly been finishing in the play-offs with Chase playing!
However, it seems that the deal to Salford is not (as many claim) already agreed. Chase has requested a transfer today - hardly the actions of a player who has a move agreed. Financially for us a move to Salford would be best, but there are NRL teams interested who Chase would prefer to join.

| I think it would be churlish to gloat over any players we sign form rival clubs. We should always remember how close we actually were to going out of business to the extent of us not even having a shirt made for the forthcoming season. Whilst I am elated at the reality of seeing top class players plying their trade at SCR stadium, we should have respect and a degree of sympathy for other clubs that are being subjected to the bleak times we went through - no matter how bitter they become.

| Quote: roger daly "Don't you think Castleford fans are a very strange INbreed'"
Edited for accuracy
I do find the attitude a little odd, if the numbers you here privately are correct then Castleford have done very well out of this and it will go some way to allowing them to significantly strengthen rather than have so much money tied up in one player. If they do get Sneyd for a season too then they have got a good play maker who will do an excellent job and learn from Powel/Orr.

Submitting a transfer request is not a procedure AFTER a transfer has been agreed!
Chase no doubt knows where he wants to go, but the deal has yet to be agreed with Castleford for a transfer. The club are not keen to sell to Salford (althohg I think that's a bit daft if you are offering decent money) and would rather he move to the NRL.

| Success in Superleague is basically about who’s got the biggest financial clout. You have the traditionally sucessful and self sufficient clubs like Wigan, Leeds and Saints and then it’s all about who’s got the wealthiest and most generous owner/directors. Coaching, administration and youth systems are secondary.
