Quote eccles star="eccles star"Maybe he was trying to insert disapline to make the team more professional is that a crime. And would love to here how you know who was on short list are you there when they interviewed are club as always lacked disapline and just look over years we are never fully fit can't play for 80 mins and can't defend a disapline on players that I felt personally needed even the club. Or we will never challenge for anything. Matt parish was treated disgracefully in my eyes as he wanted the players to be more professional and for me we need someone like that if you want to be successful in sport. Problem is they did not like what he wanted to do. If its right that the club told him one thing and he saw what they said was wrong as a coach you ain't going to be happy if you took a job based on what club sells. They players a always here for a free ride there here to perform. So for me shows club had no ambition for change. And selling Marty smith when we still had a good chance of play off place shows the lack of ambition by the whole club.'"
Mate I liked Parish and his no sh*t approach but Respectable players were shocked at his unprofessional approach, Getting P*sses up on a nightly basis. That doesn't exactly command respect does it? He treated players with disrespect giving them the silent treatment . That to me isn't a sign of a good man manager. The supporters saw Parish as a breath of fresh air because he didn't pussy foot around the Chairman and Team performances but he wasn't the Saviour we were led to believe he was. The man that would if turned the whole attitude if the club around would of been John Kear, now he is a Fantastic coach and Man manager. The Sale of Smith was a clear indicator of impending Financial melt down, As was the premature termination if Pattens contract.
Some on here have accused DJ Holdsworth And Patten of being stirrers but it was as simple as them both venting their frustration with how we are run as a club.
