why is it such a bad thing? We need someone in the stadium to share the costs, by lowering these cost the money can be diverted to there areas such as the team or coachign staff. the fact we won't have as high running costs will surely make us a more attractive proposition to potential buyers. Also maybe Sale will be able to teach us a thing or two about marketing and give Mr Tarry a kick up the ar$e he needs. I do think Wilky has taken us a far as he can now, we need a new owner with drive and surely being in anew stadium, with a better playing staff than last year, instead of a run down stadium with no prospects and thrwoing money at things such as maintenaince is much more appealing investment?

Is that a fact? We don't know. There's an assumption that our costs decrease but I've not seen anything to confirm that. If it's true that ourselves and Sale will each be paying half of what we are currently paying that great - but I don't know that's the case and it doesn't seem to make sense. Why would we have been getting reports of Sale struggling to agree rent if the rent is half what we're currently paying. Do Sale consider that our current rent is 100% overvalued?






Sale have already said that they are going to develop their business and administration base at their facility in Carrington. How does that help us learn any more from their marketing than we can now? I don't see why they would want to help a rival organisation with their marketing, especially with their stated desire to "Seize Manchester and take the North West".

As far as we were led to believe Salford City Reds had a contract as Primary Tennants, therefore if Sale are given it then they and the SMC are in breech of that and can surely be sued.

Finally, we as supporters should fight this. Maybe we should petition the council and Peel holdings and should that be too late (as I think it now is) maybe we should make life as uncomfortable for Sale as possible. Perhaps a picket line/ blockade at their first match.

Time for the cliques in our support to come to an end now. If we can't unite together over something like this we are just going to watch Sale walk all over us. Something needs to be sorted sooner rather than later before we end up in a similar situation as Leigh have been in (at war with the stadium company) or Stockport (sliding slowly in oblivion).

I think most Salford supporters are united on this argument. Very few see many positives, and most, rightly so, are highly suspicious of anything Sale related. Unfortunately, there's little we can do. Salford as a Club have no say in what the stadium company want. If someone like Kennedy can dangle a carrot, my worry is what he and Sale intend to do about their annoying working class co-tenant?

There's little argument about the product on the pitch. Rugby curious neutrals will just be bored and baffled by RU and RL fanatics wouldn't touch it with a very long stick. It's how Sale and its minions see Salford as an annoying itch they'd like to scratch off the surface which worries me. What would they be willing to try to become sole operators at SCS?

So if Salford and Sale are splitting Salford's existing costs then you're saying that the SMC don't get any more income from an extra tenant other than their cut of catering from 16 more home games? I still don't get why there would have been so much stalling by Sale if they were being offered Half our current deal. Don't get me wrong, I'd happily see us have enough money knocked off our rent to let us sign a few quality players, but I'm very wary about giving a competitor a platform to expand from.
