| The big difference between a lot of Clubs and Wigan is that in Wigan's eyes the Club comes first. They have never been afraid of selling players or getting rid when the time suited them, and they rarely get sentimental over players. This is not a dig at them. It's served them well in the past and will continue to do so.
If Hansen's interested in signing and the deal's right I'm sure Wigan would let go. They have talented youngsters coming through and they have the reputation that can bag them a big name. I think it all rests with H and what he thinks is best for him and his Family.
Until then I wont get too excited until I see it on the Salford site.

| Quote dubairl="dubairl"i agree with that to a certain extent that there isn't many signings that make other clubs envious but i would be if you signed hall, hardaker, Lomax, Bateman, Daryl Clark, Ratchford, Ben crooks and tom Lineham. If wigan was in need of a half back i probably would of said chase. The Hull Kr fans was upset they lost Scott Taylor not so much Blake Green even tho he is quality when fit.'"
Ryan Hall I could agree with. The others I'm less sure about. I didn't feel particularly jealous that Wigan had signed John Bateman, for example. As I said, I don't think many people ever get jealous of other clubs' signings. There's always something to give you a sense of reassurance that your club doesn't need those players (Hock's off field stuff, Clark's unprovenness, Ratchford's lack of a settled position, that kind of thing).

actually i see your point about Bateman massively talented but proven nothing yet, if you had signed him i wouldn't have thought twice about it other than its a good signing but if Leeds, warrington or St helens to a lesser of extent i would of been massively disappointed because its a gamble that could pay massively for them.
Like i said with Hansen if he decides he wants to go to Salford then id be happy for him and you will have signed a quality player who would take you a massive step forward.

| We can afford to let him go if the money's right, we have plenty backrowers coming through. If it's true he would be a massive signing for you guys though, I was concerned by the standard of players Koukash bought in but I suppose that's the salary cap for you. Noble was a smart move though. I can see him getting you to the play offs before long if they stay as 8 teams

| This type of condescending post should make you understand why Wigan fans are not held in the highest regard in the game.

I'm not trying to have a go, I just mean all the signings so far that I've heard of are either ready for retirement (Meli, Gleeson, Morley, Puletua, Griffin) or have disciplinary issues and tend to crack when the pressure is on (Chase, Smith, Hock).
Hansen on the other hand has never been in trouble as far as I'm aware, is still only 28 and has been a big part of winning all of our four trophies in the last three years. He's one of those players who tackles all day and never seems to have a bad game. He will be your best signing if it comes off and I would be sad to see him go even though we have plenty to replace him with.

I struggle to see where i have been condescending? Hansen quality player one of the best would improve any team and he has earned the right to make his own decision.

| Other teams fans have a right of opinion on the Signings Noble has made / Koukash has funded. We might not like what they say, but the general concensus is that they are a mix of ageing warhorses, a year or two off from the glue-factory , some injury prone- periferal NRL types & 3 talented trouble causers..
the other criticism is they will be playing to a sp crowd.
Ultimately it's up to us to dispell the crowd taunts by turning up in numbers & the players to pay back the faith in Noble signing them by delivering results on field .

| well put
Please can someone remind me of a failing memory (selective, alcoholic, or age-related), but, even with the signings of the "We'll make the play-offs says Palesina" era, we did not get so much comment of how we are going to fail.
Nice

| ' Bring out the Big Guns ' 2011
I still have that flyer ..
A lesson to us all not to promise too much .
2 of them failed even to make it to the club , 1 had back injury problem that limited appearances to a handfull. and 1 carried double his fighting weight in Pooles Pies.
