Apologies was referring to your post complaining about Salford town hall being in Swinton and the injustice of Swinton tax payers paying for our new ground while Swinton play in Leigh. Apparently this is all down to Salford RLFC and Salford council and nothing to do with other factors?

I accept that the stadium malarkie is down to a variety of factors. Perhaps my 'beef' is after all with the City Council and their due diligence team, believing the premiss of "build it and they will come" and 8,000 at that. This is a difficult proposition given your team's current playing standing coupled with a move away from Weaste, the recession that we are having to cope with. Ok the 'sky might be the limit' but realistically what should have the investment team based their figures on? 5-6000 tops anything above would have been a bonus for me

oh and the Swinton thing, I don't know the in's and out's, but, if ever there was case for a joint facilty this surely was it, as it could have ticked a lot more political boxes, which after all seems to be a primary reason that it was developed in the first place together with an obvious planning gain by the private arm of development team.

Assumedly we are still paying a high rent on a stadium that generates no income other than ticket sales.

We must have a target attendance that is required to break even.

Otherwise we are running at a loss.

Sale Shark's accounts show them running at a loss we get a much smaller gate than them and don't have the same level of finance union brings in from tv money.

With a typical gate of 2000 we must be running at a loss. If we are still on the same rent as last year we would require a significant attendance to make money.

If you take Koukash out of the equation we are back in the red again.

How as I have said before I optimistic the Doctor will sort out the problems.

Worst case senario Brian Kennedy buys the stadium and we are really screwed.

Ultimately it needs a sound AND achievable business plan, we can only keep the faith that we have a much better chance of that being in place under Dr K than it ever was previously.

I'm not sure I'd see Kennedy as a threat at present, why would the council & Peel sell to one buyer rather than another? I suppose the real question is whether the stadium IS actually up for sale at present or whether the current owners would prefer to sit on their hands for a few years whilst the economy improves and the value of commercial premises rises, at which point they could realise a lot more.

The real question has to be how long Koukash.is prepared to bankroll your club. Apart from his credit rating little can have changed financially if anything worsening on the back of falling gates seen generally throughout Rugby League.
The hopes may well be pinned on a winning team being assembled next season the problem is what happens if the public don't respond.
