I have to disagree with many on here critising the ability of Phil Bailey. Firstly he's a second row now and not a centre anymore since he lost half a yard a couple of years back. Personally from what I've seen of him on TV over the past few seasons I think he's adapted well to the second row and would make a great addition. He's a good pro with loads of stamina and plenty of experience, having been capped by Australia including 3 appearances for New South Wales.
With both Alker and Swain leaving we will need forwards that work hard and he certainly has that in his game. Again if you look at his stats he makes more metres than any of the existing Salford forwards. (Although thats not too difficult)

I'd certainly rather have Phil Bailey playing for us than a number of our existing forwards.

As for knocking Stuart Fielden I think he's been up there with the best forwards in SL this year and he's one of the reasons Wigan are going so well in 2010.

Makes me laugh when Wigan fans slate other fans, everytime we go there we outsing them, they need an annoying drum to sing when they do, and 5 minutes to go v Huddersfield, 2 points down with a win to give them the shield and their fans were leaving the ground, 18th man my a rse

The thing to remember about players such as Bailey is the impact he can have on our junior members of the squad.

One of the ex Wigan players mentioned Bailey at a FR meeting saying what an influence he was to theacademy players and how much time he gave them.

We seriously lack that sort of example for our players and was part of a "discussion " we had in the shed on Sunday as a couple of us felt that McRae and Alker lacked knowledge for the half backs.
