Here's my comment, seeing as you require it...
McDermott has a point. Should he have said it? No. Was it unprofessional? Yes.
I'm glad that you'll be happy now you've received my comment. Quite why I'm not so sure, and MR isn't my Brother, although you're quite welcome to go on believing it if it makes you feel happy. I'm all about the love, you see.
I think your wrong there Butch. Marwan won't listen to were he's going wrong from anybody. If McDermotts comments have touched on a raw nerve with him, then that can only be good for the club. And judging on the Dr's tweet it did hit home.

| I shudder to remember how close we came to joining his club ..... or would Mrs K be different. Thank you RFL for blocking it.

Yes I agree.
I think McDermott was probably out of order but it needed saying.
Que sera sera with MK but the current situation is completely unsustainable if the rumours regarding off field issues are true, not Chase being unhappy because he's not playing, but the rest of it.
I hope there's no truth in any of it,particularly the skipper being owed money, but McDermott must know something and,in the long term,we may benefit from him having said it.

I think you've read it wrong.
I actually agree with McDermott, but disagree in the manner that he aired it. His point is dampened about professionalism at our Club by being totally unprofessional in the way he went about it. That was my point.

| He did it because he cares. There isn't any other way really. BM has gone up another level in my high opinion of him.

| It's fairly obvious that Brian McDermott's outspoken comments have been influenced by his relationship with Harris and perhaps others.
Personally I think it was very unprofessional of BM which surprised me because he was a model player and is a respectable coach. He does have more than a point about MK but he should have told him to his face if he has a problem. A press conference isn't the place and it's just not in the spirit of rugby league, especially after a club has been humiliated like that. McDermott's public views are damaging to a club that are already having problems to resolve on and off the field.
I'm not suggesting he should be fined but I certainly feel a caution by the RFL would be appropriate.

As someone who has great respect for Mr McDermott I am as perplexed by his words as I am by events at Salford.
The timing of it particularly strange given that prior to last night SRD had won 2 games on the bounce prior to their visit to the Headingley hex.
As someone pointed out elsewhere Hull KR let 80 past them at Wigan before defeating the same opposition in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup a short time later.
If the prop forwards union are following the example of the fearsome foursome in the comments directed at Salford by Messrs Anderson and McDermott why hasn't Garreth Carvell, welfare officer at SRD while on a playing and coaching contract at Featherstone passed comment? Hardly a shrinking violet or wary of confrontation,is he? He does have a job elsewhere.
If Harris is really unwell why haven't the players dedicated a win from the 2 consecutive victories to him or anyone at the club sent him good wishes?
As it was the Chief Exec of the RFL who invited Dr K to take over SRD,why hasn't he or Brian Barwick passed comment?
After Harris worked under Moss and Roberts at Crusaders - owners who were possibly found by the task force headed by Steve Ferres - why did he allow himself to take a job under Dr K if he is as bad as some would have us believe?
I hope the situation resolves itself for the decent people involved with the Salford club but if there is a crisis of confidence can it please be on show when you meet Sheffield Eagles?
I was under the impression that professional sports people are professional enough to ignore off-field situations.
I have read elsewhere that Dr K was not in attendance last night.

No I didn't read it wrong, and the way it was aired is exactly the only way to get point over. Not behind closed doors or pre-rehed interviews.
Say it as you see it.BM's done you a favour there, don't knock it.

I've seen this mentioned a few times, but what relationship does McDermott have with Harris? He didn't play with him, hasn't coached with him, hasn't had any public dealings with him. And Harris is a Leeds legend but the bridges with him and Hetherington are well and truly burned.
But RL is a small world. Players talk. McDermott does have history with Noble, Hauraki, Jones-Bishop and Morley and will know what's going on inside the club more than any fan.

Coaches like players stick together don't they? Unless it's Wane and Harris Also I'm sure both would have been around the international team at the same time. Like you say though Noble didn't leave on good terms and you can add several more to this list. It's more likely BM has heard several stories from different people and he's formulated an opinion on this and MK's social networking behavior.

I believe it really is as simple as that. No agenda because of some friendship with Harris which nobody even knows if they are friends.
He simply doesn't like seeing the sport looking bad and the things coming out from Salford and the owner don't exactly make for the best reading. For all we know as well he has had private discussions with Koukash in past.
Whilst he was critical of Koukash, he didn't say anything insulting and he didn't try and mention any rumour he might've heard.
Instead of viewing it as an attack on him, Koukash should view it as advice. However I doubt he'll do that.

| Dr Kockrash got the rounds of the kitchen from Mac
At the end of the day Mac only said what probably every RL player, coach, administrator, owner, fan or journalist wanted to say to him
Dr Kockrash can do whatever he chooses in regards to how he runs "HIS" club as he has put his money where his big mouth is,but I'll bet that there's plenty more 5hit to come out of the club before all this furor dies down
Kockrash needs to take a step back and to employ a coaching team that he trusts enough to stay out of the coaching domain
He clearly didn't trust Nobby or Harris to run things their way so lets see how he leaves his golden boy Sheens to turn his club around, sadly i can't see this working either

| McDermott doesn’t often speak out in this manner – only once before have I heard him talk with such passion about a club that wasn’t Leeds and that was last year when he was asked if he believed RL in London was viable after the terrible season that the Broncos had had.
Sometimes I think the BMcD needs a little more ‘media training’ as he can come across as brash and standoffish at times but he wears his heart on his sleeve and is massively passionate about Rugby League.
IMO he has said what he said because he cares about what is happening at Salford and the road that they are currently on. He has worked with several of the current Salford squad and knows some of them on a personal level so may have an insight it what is going on behind closed doors.
Whether or not he should have said anything in the public eye is debatable but one thing is for sure and that is that he is right. The “Good Dr” is making the once great institution that is Salford RL a bit of a comedic enterprise.
Money IS the answer but it needs to be invested in the right way and in the right places. It is no coincidence that the top three clubs in SL are also the three clubs that have the best youth systems in place. If Marwan is serious about his involvement in RL then, as has already been stated, he needs to play the ‘long game’ and stop believing that RL is the same as soccer i.e. if you throw enough cash at it you’ll get instant success.

| What I can't understand is why the players chose this particular game to effectively down tools. Did something happen in the week leading up to the game that was perhaps seen as a final straw for the players? Since Hull KR away we had won both our games, coming back from 12 and 14 points behind respectively. Yet the way McDermott has spoken after the game it was almost as if he knew what was going to happen before the game had even kicked off.
