Boyle was an absolute liability. Think he lost the ball almost every time he touched it.
Counted 9 out of 10 sets between the two teams around the 60-70 minute mark ending up in knock-ons.

| Quote: "I thought Sidlow had a good game, but the rest of the forwards had no impact at all on the big Bulls pack .We found it very hard to bring the ball away from our own line time after time. There were 3 times in the second half, when we had a scrum on our own 10 metre line, the wind behind us, and their fullback up in the line. WHY oh WHY dont we kick down field on the FIRST tackle. What is there to lose???At worst, the fullback has to turn round and chase 50 metres back and maybe get the ball on their 20 metres ,meaning we have cleared our lines, but at best, Broughton or Williams outpaces them and scores !!'"
Agree with all that. Lee Briers would have taken full advantage of that situation, so why dont we???

| [iLast night was like watching a game played 20 years ago.
OK the weather was crap and it did spoil the game.
The Ref Mr Richard Silverwood is one of the best around but in my opinion he had a bad game from start to finish.
But it was the same for both sides and in the end I suppose a draw was a fair result, but the fact remains were are now stuck in the bottom four of the table and in my eyes that is where we will remain for the rest of this season sadly...[/i

| No-one commenting how Holdsworth's poor kicking cost us another game? He has to be put on remedial kicking practice! Wane at Wigan has come out and had ago at Charnley, maybe PV needs to have a word in DJ ear. I'm beginning to lose count how many missed goals he has this season and can't live off the Hull game which was effectively in front of the posts anyway.

Tbh I thought you were the better side through 80 mins, but still felt unlucky to get a point as I thought we'd had it after Burgess's 'try'
The offside report came from the BBC reporter at the match, so if a bloke in the stand sees it and reports what he sees, or are you saying the BBC make it up?

| The offside looked outrageous, but I'd love to see it on tv,as sometimes it can be deceptive.
Even if they hadn't scored then I think there were still tries left in the game,so i think they would have gone on to score anyway, and it's very much to the teams credit that they came back at the end.

Castleford, Hull KR, Wakefield, Leeds (Cup), Warrington, Bradford
All games that we should have won because our opponents on the day had a shocker. Any other team would have put +20 past them, got points on the board and improved their points difference. Close defeats and draws are useless to Salford, we need to be more clinical and start grinding out victories, and for the love of God get a goal kicker who can actually put the ball through the posts! That's what a lot of games come down to and Holdsworth's just not up to the task!
I know we are in need of some decent props but without them we haven't been walked over this season (too much). If we had a decent goal kicker we wouldn't be in this situation and the props probably wouldn't be taking as much stick. Confidence comes from winning games and kickers win games!

| While I am not surprised at the criticism of the SCR players on this forum I am surprised no-one has mentioned the decision when 6-0 ahead to run the penalty in preference to taking the 2.I cannot recall if Stephen Wild was on the field at the time but we certainly lost our way while he was off the field in the second.
It must have felt, for the players,to be playing at least 14 in opposition when the ball seemed to be reefed out and Silverwood awards a knock-on against SCR.
There was also a suspicion of a forward pass for one of the tries by Pryce.
On the Bradford forum they point out that apart from the offside try they were forced to score on the edge;perhaps our forwards aren't as bad as suggested !
Certainly the effort by Lee Jewitt to track across field and tackle Pryce when others appeared to be in shock was particularly impressive - when someone on facebook/twitter once again questions the fitness.
We did score the last try of the game albeit when they were down to 12 players.
We need someone on the pitch to ensure the players don't switch off and retain the intensity for 80 minutes,
and as we cannot expect young hookers to make important decisions either the half-backs do it or the vice captain when Stephen Wild is off the field. If we are to introduce youngsters into the side we don't want to be making it extra hard for them.
Interesting to see Marc Sneyd miss a couple of conversions last night (first half )
and Josh Veivers score all 3 second half while playing in the same direction as the first team (each half )
Should Bradford enter administration and be deducted points the Hull KR away game will be after they have a similar run of fixtures to ours after their derby game at The Etihad Stadium - Warrington,Huddersfield,Saints and Cats.

Think that's a yes to that question. Maybe the BBC reporter needs glasses.

| I thought SIDLOW had a great game against the Bulls, however same old story our pack were dominated physically by a larger stronger pack. It seemed that the Bulls forwards ran hard and made positive yards and backed up with an urgency for a quick play the ball they gained easy yards. however Salfords pack lacked conviction and aggression and seemed content to be dominated in the tackle resulting in slow play the balls and static play!
Salfords back line can match most in Super League, I dont have a problem with any of them, the half backs are good, hookers are more than able but cannot give the quick balls required to the halfs due to our lack-lustre forwards.
A point lost rather than gained against the Bulls, thought we were just getting on top in the second half when Pryce took the intercept. A try then and the game would probably have been won.
