| It is indicative of this board that bickering over nursing and counting has replaced sadness at the end of an institution that many of us enjoyed over the years, provided much of the money to pay for that superb team of the late '60s and early '70s, and could further make ill the person who has kept us afloat for decades.

| While I agree with your last sentiment HR. I have to wonder how it has failed so miserably. When ever I mention I support Salford the first thing people say is that they have been to the willows variety club and had a great time at a stag / hen do etc...
Could it be that the variety club has been grossly mis-managed? It seems strange that large amount of people agree it's a really good venue, yet it's gone bust.

What?????????? You need sacking then mate. Hull had more in the North Stand than we did in the South. There were 1600 at the very very least.

| Well for what its worth. We were sat at the far end of the West stand and I also [ while waiting forever for Tickle to take his kicks ] did a quick head count , and I got it to about 500. I was a lot closer than you.!!

| Hull brought at least 1600. The away stand holds around 2k and they almost filled it.

No they didn't there was plenty of room at the sides of the stand - the bulk of their support was concentrated in the middle of the stand. Surely there must be a photo then this crazy argument can be put to rest?

| If there were 500 in there, where did the other 4600 people come from? Nowhere near that many in the South and West stands. Credit to Hull though for bringing so many, especially on a Friday night.

| There were 500 Hull fan, 64 1/2 blow-up dolls, 6 corgis in panda suits, and a welcome visit from Godzilla. In the opposite end were 15 confused Sale fans, 1067 Salford fans and a teddy bear who came from Peru.
End of flaming stupid argument.
What the ****ing hell has any of this to do with the Willows?
Imagine this in the Mdia City:
Next week on BBC2 will be ... "it's Wilky's fault", "don't you argue with me", "I am a professional ****er so I know what",
no wonder we cannot organise a supporters' forum in Salford!
The FAMOUS Willows has gone bust. Not how many Hull fans made it across the PENNINES.
It was 2/3 years ago when they posted a photo showing the Salford faithfull : about 40 of us at Hull.

| Yeah, God forbid a thread's topic of discussion deviates slightly after a couple of posts. Sorry, we'll all stick rigidly to the topic at hand next time, no more dynamic topics of conversation.

| Ye gods GT why not ignore the heading for every post?
I want to moan about the bus service to Rochdale ... a thread on kits ... perfect.
Read what I posted. Think for a minute what this might mean for Salford RLFC.
I understand your point but it's irrelevant.
This and the Buile Hill business might be the straws to cause Wilky to leave Salford WITHOUT anyone to replace him. Hull's following does not come into any discussion.
Kennedy as our new chair?

I know full well what this might mean for the club. Worryingly so. But the point made above is completely relevant.

Yes. I know that.
Quote: Hillbilly_Red "Hull's following does not come into any discussion. '"
It was mentioned in a post relevant to the discussion. Someone disagreed with the point in said post. It goes from there. These things happen, I don't see why you're getting so f**king wound up about it? Even important threads deviate from their origins. And your example of buses on kit threads is completely irrelevant - there's a difference between turning a discussion around without prompting and a deviation due to what were, originally, relevant points. That just shows you're missing the point, maybe deliberately, who knows?
I'm going to leave this now because I really cannot be a**ed. But, back to the original point of the thread (just to keep you happy), if the Willows has been run anything like Salford RLFC has been in recent times then it's no wonder the place has gone to the wall. That is the most worrying thing - that this could be a window into the way our rugby club does business.
