I'm thinking of making my first appearance of the season on Saturday. Get the 13:59 from Swinton to Atherton it takes 11 minutes
Anyone else fancy a day out?

| Better late than never I suppose. Under the leadership of temporary manager Rhodri Giggs Salford City put seven succesive defeats behind them with a relatively easy 4-0 win over Durham City to move five places up the league table. Scorers at Moor Lane were Colin Quirk, Rhodri Giggs, Sam Freakes and Steve Foster who might well have scored 4 or 5 on the night.

The Lion is a cracking little pub a bit further down Bolton Road from the station, and Costa del Crilly has a beltin' little clubhouse (Guinness on draught for those of that persuasion). What time I turn up depends on whether I'll have little 'un in tow or not.

Guinbo will do very nicely, I'm actually looking forward to it it's been a while, now if my head will after tonight is another matter.

| Salford City eased to a comfortable if unspectacular 3-0 win at Leigh Genesis to move into 12th place in the league. Leigh had their keeper sent off early on in the game but Salford didn't capitalise until the second half with Steve Foster 2 (1 pen) and Martyn Andrews netting for the Ammies.
On Tuesday 12th October, ko 7:45 pm Salford travel to Woodley Sports in the 1st round of the Evo-Stik League Challenge Cup.

| Game of two halves and all that - seems referee's have it in for us at the minute but we're making it far too easily. Different game had Eastham's 'goal' been given in the first half, but such is life.
Good following from Salford anyroad, hope you enjoyed your visit.

Yeah I think you're right, we were under the cosh in the first half but I think the wind and slope made it difficult for us. I was saying after about half hour that I'd be delighted to get in at half time at 0-0 and when that goal got disallowed I was more than relieved. The sending off was always going to have a huge bearing on the game, having said that and bearing in mind the final score I thought your stand in keeper had a blinder.

Tidy set up at Crilly Park and as you suggested the Guinness was excellent, also a mention to the Blue Bell (I think ) on Bolton Road, it was pretty good, (if very quiet for a Saturday afternoon) so much so we had to get the later train back.
I made up one goal for us, I was convinced we won 4-0 Decent away all in all.

| Rarely go in the Blue Bell to be honest as it's usually pretty quiet, prefer the Lion near the lights (though with little 'un in tow on Saturday I didn't have a single drop!)
Shall be making up for it with a good day on the ale away to Chester on Saturday!

| Salford City's recent mini revival came to an abrupt end at Woodley Sports tonight in the Evo-Stick League Cup 1st round with a crushing 5-1 defeat. With four regular first teamers sidelined, including Rhodri Giggs, the Ammies were second best on Woodley's artificial surface with matters going from bad to worse with the half-time withdrawal of keeper Andy Robertson due to him fracturing a toe. Steve Foster grabbed Salford's late consolation goal.
Back to league action this Saturday, 16th october, ko 3:00 pm, when AFC Fylde are the visitors to Moor Lane.
