Am I the one who thinks Chase will be a miss for us? Jesus who we bringing in that is better? Apart from the ban which was a bit farcical, he's been in great form this year, don't get me wrong I don't like how he forged his way out and its pi$$ poor, but but you cant say he hasn't played well this year when on the field.

Chase will be a huge miss no doubt about that. Outstanding player and without his suspension we would have been comfortably in the top 8.

Most teams would miss Chase, the top teams though could possibly carry a player who is more of a show pony than solid half back.

I think had he not missed the games he did due to suspension that the top 8 would have been a much easier target, the suspension was harsh but ultimately foolish on his part to tackle in the way he did, which again is another reason why we are possibly better off without him.

It has occurred to me that his well publicized meltdown a couple of weeks ago now seems to have been forgotten, is it a case of that story being generated to nudge the club into letting him go?

There is nobody unhappier than us on how Theo left the club, tried talking to him to see the season out,but his head had been turned by a certain person over 18 months ago,when we was also approached to advise him to leave the club,which we declined to do. Eventually, amongst other things happening, Theo's head was turned & he became unhappy. The walking out was a decision he was advised to do to fulfill somebody else's ambition & get back at the club.
Youngsters need to be wary of people bearing gifts!!!!!

Thank You Shirley for enlightening us with your background Info. I know you spent a lot of time with Theo from being very young.
I think Theo whilst he played for Salford always gave 100% and worked his socks off in some trying times. I think he's a very good young prospect but not quite the finished article. I think he'll go on to be a very good player in the future and thrive with some good coachng.
I too was extremely disappointed with the manner of his exit strategy. I'll remember him with fond memories apart from his exit. He could have left by finishing the season to ensure our survival and with grace such as Stef and David Hodgson. Maybe his age played a part in his descision

I don't know how anybody could read Long's autobiography and see him as a role model.
He was undoubtedly a tremendous player though

I wish Theo no ill will and hope it all works out for him, but I can't forgive him (And the turds whispering in his ear) for the way he treated us, the supporters, doing it the way he did. I don't think he's a vindictive sort, so I can only imagine that the 'head-turners' created enough doubt in his mind. I can see the frustration that he probably had with Chase and Dobson taking priority, and it doesn't take a genius to whisper the right things in his ear.

A shame, but it's over now, time to move on.

bearing in mind we have released players this season and they have been model pro's and played with 100% effort and dedication since those announcements....its not nice to see a player shaft his own club like Fages has. I didnt even know you could simply hand your notice in...!!

Mickey higham while at the other end of the age spectrum to Fages left in a similar manner...having his head turned by a better/longer deal.

Mickey is currently bumming around in a lower division and getting spanked and will be again next year. He could have been playing superleague with us next year - it would have been his last year granted - but its not be..... and a sneaky part of me is so glad....

If you get your recruitment right and the right type of player... the Joel Monaghans of the world for example, you might not be that far off Saints next year...it must surely be a grudge match in the making.....???

I know a bloke who works for fages agency, he told me a while ago that salford had made a 'brilliant offer' to him, but they (the agents) hate koucash, and also salford in my opinion, and he was going, agents are parasites and ive told this bloke my views but he says they are only interested in the players welfare, complete bull, they are only interested in what they can get. What i would really like to know is why couldn't theo fages say to his agent, he would resign at the end of the season? After all he makes the final decision.

Heard similar that Graeme Taylor and Marwan Koukash have a very volatile relationship, even to the point of Koukash banning him from the stadium. Clearly his agent has done all he could to move him on from Salford and my theory on the resignation is, Mr Taylor knew Saints would never pay a transfer fee above £50k so in order to reduce Theo's value (probably around £80k) he used mistakes Salford had made previously with regards to Theos contract and cite breach of contract. Knowing full well an RFL tribunal would favour the player and set a marginal transfer fee.

As we know, it never went to a tribunal and a fee of less than £30k was agreed.

Sorry can't agree with that statement...in my opinion the biggest mistake of the Koucash era was appointing Brian Noble and trusting his judgement on players...to me Noble had lost touch with the modern game and his signings reflected this. Apart from Greg Johnson we had absolutely no pace whatsoever and the style of play wasn't great to watch either. Smith and Chase never jelled...Meli and Williams too slow...I thought when Harris took over he did an admirable job steadying the ship, sorting the defence out and injecting much needed pace. I think Harris had bad luck with the Chase ban and then Dobson getting injured ...apart from the strange signing of Micheal Platt who ran like a tortoise on prozac he did ok in my book. With regards to Theo ? Im not too bothered ..let Saints have him ..unless Long can develop him I don't think his kicking game will be good enough for that level and will be found out...Id much rather we tie Evalds down to lengthy contract and look after him as that young man is definitely a class act.
