| Quote: BartonFlyer "Given the rumours that have been circulating for weeks/months now does it really matter?
I think it does considering we have lost 8 on the bounce and desperately need a result on Sunday, a game Fages is/was due to play in.
It's obvious Theo Fages has been tapped up and his agent and the interested club have asked Fages to hand in the request now when we are down on our luck. Fages isn't going anywhere until next year at the earliest so why hand in the request now?

and why is anyone on this board interested in the slightest in what you'd pay?
How much have you got by the way?

| It's clearly not about the money,he wants to play for a more successful club.
Good luck to him.
Really sorry that we're losing him.
He's had a regular starting place this season, for most of the time,so we've seen his strengths and weaknesses.
He's currently the third best halfback at the club, although he generally stays fit !
My main worry isn't about Theo,it's whether it's part of a wider malaise.

What for a 20 year old International halfback? If 60K is the going rate we'll take half a dozen.

| Quote: The Perry Boy "Disagree with that!
If he were to move to a top 4/5 team he'd still be playing second fiddle there as he is here!
Do you honestly think he'd oust Brough, Smith, Myler or Walsh (when fit) from the No. 7 shirt?
The only top 4/5 team who I think would be interested would be Leeds as Burrow is coming to the end of his career.
I'm sure they'd be thinking a bit bigger then Fages though, especially with the Marquee Player Rule coming in.'"
I didnt say anything about him starting......

| With hindsight we now know the impossible is possible that we can have our first choice 6, 7 & 9 out for at least 6 games at the same time. Theo has done his best and it's lucky we have had him available for this period but to be honest I prefer Chase & Dobson.

Probably in the same way that I could buy a few Ronaldos.

| It's not necessarily the thought of not being able to replace Theo Fages that concerns me. It's the uncertainty that things aren't quite as they should be behind the scenes. With players leaving or wanting to leave, do they think we aren't progressing as a team and have little chance of improving much next year and beyond? I could fully understand talented players wanting to leave in the past when finances were limited but do we now have a different problem?

| One or two on this forum have over egged Theo in the past. What I will say for the for the kid he never gives less than 100% yes his long kicking game is flawed, but that can be rectified,so we did not need Dobson if Theo does go we will get no more than 50,000

| You got about 100K for Sneyd who had a year left on his contract, so i'd expect about the same for Fages who although younger, isn't quite yet as good as Sneyd.

| Quote: John Gilbert Reds "Patterson is only on a one-year deal anyway, so his contract is up at the end of the season. Heard similar stories myself but the club he had been speaking to was Leigh!
I can see why Theo would want to leave as he is behind two very good half backs but Patterson is a mystery, for me the best second row at the club by some distance this season and even better when he plays in the centres.
He is one I'd be giving a long term deal to and using as the foundation for progression.
I can only assume that Sheens coming over was too check out the club, the facilities and possibly the area with an eye to taking up the head coaches role when his current coaching role comes to an end. I doubt any of us would have an issue with the current Australian national coach taking over the reigns.

Some would prefer the dream team of Alker, Goulding and Gregory.
