| I would still say it's a little early to be binning Noble.
His teams tend to be solid fare. I would question a couple of the signings though.
Puletua and Mozza.
Puletua had problems with injury at Saints and whilst spectacular going forwards on occasion. Those occasions were getting less and less. Mozza seemed crocked since he had that eye trouble.

Morley has been excellent so far, Puletua appears to be just going through the motions and running down his contract.
I agree about it being far too early to bin Noble. However, he does not appear to have added much, if any, value so far. We've played well in 40 mins against Wakefield Trinity and against Cas at home last Sunday. He is only on a 1 year contract so if there is little sign of improvement I wouldn't be surprised to see him eased out at the end of the season. The 18 month contract for Noble was an excellent move by Koukash - didn't tie us to a coach long term in a sport where coaching reigns are notoriously short.

| As ever, people are looking to justify their preconceived thoughts.
Morley has indeed been excellent.
TP has been fine. Reference to him running down his contract is simply unfair on the bloke.
If Salford had one more win in the league at this stage of the season, our league position would be very different and we'd say it was an ok start.
Just leave them to get on with it and judge after half a season

A top proven coach with high standards who knows how to win things.
I doubt he speaks the same language as some of them.
I would have Brian Noble as Warrington coach happily, if Salford sack Noble you aren't going to get a top proven coach, you are just going to get someone in who is unproven and a gamble.

Will the judge Noble at the half way point in the season extend to the end of the season or even next season if we are still not playing to our potential? I genuinely hope Nobby get’s it right but I’m going to need convincing with some better performances and much more consistency over the next few weeks.
I guess it’s part of the dna of being Salford supporter that we have very low expectations and we are much more forgiving and always willing to get the ‘Salford Rugby Fan’ excuse book out. What will it be if we fail again on Thursday? Let me guess, a blessing in disguise now we can concentrate on finishing in the top 8?
A question, do you think Noble would have survived at other SL clubs with his appalling loss ratio? I appreciate we had to play a few kids last year but Noble is considered an elite International coach and Harrison, McRae, Simms, Vievers & Hunte all had a better win rate. If Noble does get it right he should be eternally grateful for the leniency, patience and financial backing he’s been given at Salford.
It’s time now for Noble and his staff to start producing much more and delivering what they are being paid handsomely to do, starting on Thursday night with a much needed win at Hull. No excuses about a couple of injuries, just look at Saints last Friday beating Leeds with a bunch of kids and many more injuries than we’ve had this year. The difference is St Helens players have a winning mentality instilled in them where we would have been beaten before we took to the field.
COME ON SALFORD . . . Let's lose the inferiority complex and BELIEVE

| Not sure where to start on that !
It's in our DNA to be on the coach's back whenever possible.
St Helens has better youngsters coming through.
What else is St Helens known for, apart from glass ?

| In my opinion, you can't count last season in any stats.
I'll judge him after this season.

I want Noble to succeed at Salford as much as you or anybody else for that matter. I'm just naturally concerned that we aren't performing anywhere close to our potential after spending a heap of money and losing three of our last four games. Do you or do you not agree that this responsibility lies ultimately with the head coach who was given a blank cheque book to bring in the big players, coaching team and have the training facilities he wanted? Is it wrong for a supporter to consider if another coach could have done a much better job with the financial resourses available? I appreciate a team's full potential isn't realised overnight but I have some concerns about:-
1. Failure to identify that we needed a decent goal kicker
2. The team frequently switching off in defence and conceeding very soft tries
3. Failure to get over the try line after several repeat sets
4. Poor level of discipline leading to several penalties against us
5. Inability to legally slow down the opposition's PTB
6. Having too many volatile individuals with well known reputations for indiscipline in our camp
As for getting on the coaches back, hardly, I'm not screaming Noble out from the terraces or parading a big protest banner on matchday's. Not yet anyway

| It seems to me there's a bit of a contrast between Nobby's performance at Crusaders when he was parachuted in very close to the start of the season and put a team together in short order that seemed to perform from day 1 (wasn't their first game against us at The Willows where they murdered us?) and the situation here where he has had more time and a lot more resources.
It was abundantly clear from the start of the Doc's involvement that we would not be signing Sam Tomkins and Billy Slater on day 1 and that it was going to take time to build a squad capable of competing with the current SL top dogs and I think most of us long-suffering Salford followers knew that.
I do wonder whether the good Doctor knows that too and whether pressure from him, real or just imagined, is having an effect on the players and coaching staff. There's a fine line between encouragement to succeed and fear of failure and the art of management is to get that balance right.

| I agree with the previous poster in that Noble needs until the end of the season before he can be judged. Lets be honest, we've lost one game (vs Widnes) where we would have targetted 2 points at the start of the season. That is it.
Aslong as we beat the likes of London (H), Bradford (H & A), Wakefield (A), Hull KR (H), Hull FC (H), Widnes (H) and so on we'll be fine (the odd big scalp too i.e Hudds, Wigan or Leeds). I've got faith in the team and coaching staff that as the season progresses we will see an improvement.

OK cards on the table, what would you and other supporters consider to be a minimum points tally this year for Noble to be given a new contract and extra funds to be trusted with? Am I interpreting your post as 10-11 wins from 27 would be acceptable to you?
I personally think the bar needs to be set higher for what's been spent. Either a challenge cup semi/ final appearance or at least 26-28 points and a play-off spot for me. If we fail to do this we will be worse off than when we was at the Willows spending 600k (30%) a year less.

I don't think this year is about how many points or where we finish because it's very much a transitional year (although top 8 would be nice, and is still possible). All I'd like to see is a steady improvement so that we go into 2015 looking capable of at least challenging for the top 6. At the moment though, that improvement isn't always immediately apparent.
