My apologies.

I think the height, build, speed, defensive qualities and kicking ability of a player stereotypically determines a players position. Why not strive to have four big, fast players with the versatility to organise, kick, defend, create and finish very well?'"
Or,as a radical alternative,we could leave srategy to title winning coaches?

You are right how can I forget the ingenious 5 drives and a kick strategy of McRae? It revolutionised the sport.

I think this is more likely to confuse our own team than the opposition.
And which four players could fulfill all those roles?

I was thinking more future than present. Sign and mould players to adopt an innovative new approach. I'd just like to see some imagination in the British game rather than copying the Aussies all the time. The idea may be rubbish but I'd just like to see something new and revolutionary from this side of the world. We look up to them too much and give them far too much respect. Let's start thinking outside the box and for ourselves. I fully appreciate it's the national game in Australia and the natural talent they have so we have to find some answers and be smarter in what we do.

While it wasn't ground breaking the last time I think we came up with a specific idea and it worked brilliantly was when we had Coley running out wide or maybe Finnigan to a lesser degree when he ran at pace back towards the ruck when close to the goal line.

Forget how or why they left, the fact is they both were leaving before their contracts expired and we all knew that. For what it is worth, I don't hold any grudges against either of them and would be more than happy to see either, or both back at the club.'"
Bill I think BF covered it but could you imagine Myler saying any of the below ? Myler was the same as Robinson and Coley, where as Stef left like Hodgy with grace. Myler put his cue on the rack once he'd seen take that and got his Haliwell Jones BMW.
Also if I'm correct Ratchford did see out his contract. (I believe).
[iWarrington playmaker Stefan Ratchford has denied he is poised for a shock return to former club Salford.
But he admits he still goes back to watch Reds as often as possible.
"I've still got a couple of years left on my contract at Warrington and it's up to them whether I stay or go.
"But I still have great affection for Salford. I was there eight years from the age of 15 and I still go to watch games when I can."
"I was a bit gutted when I heard the draw because we are favourites and it would have been good had Salford got a lower division side," added Ratchford.[/i

That is the trouble with some fans, they see a youngster in the team, then they think he should stay in.this is only my opinion and that is the kid should not be in the team on a regular basis, at this time he is only a good prospect. I think he lacks a bit of pace, youngsters can be ruined playing to much in a bad team, and at this time that''s what we are,if we had Ratchford and Chase he would not be playing.

| If we are to succeed next season we need a strong spine,1 6 7 9 13,and I don't think the players currently in those positions will be the answer.
Young players attract sentiment,as lancetodd rightly says, and our kids will come through, but not as regulars next season

Yes the top clubs generally blood the odd youngster or two in a strong team surrounded by experience and quality. Unfortunately due to circumstances we have had to field too many in a struggling team and I hope it won't cause lasting damage to their development.

| Apologies Steff did see his contract out, what I was alluding to was that we knew both were leaving well before the end of the season. Also wasn't having a go at Steff, but still can not see why fans sing that someone should die because they leave to play for another club. It is a fact we sold Myler to Warrington and received a lot more cash than most think. Without that money we may well not of survived. On another note some of our foul mouthed female fans ( who were probably cheering him on Sunday) subjected Steff to a tirade of foul mouthed abuse at a game at the Willows before he left. Players come and go, and I can live with that, personally I would rather we got on with supporting the players with us now rather than abusing, or cheering, players that have left us, just move on.

| We NEED to sign one of these players soon. We can't keep mentioning names in the press, so far non of Koukash's marquee signings have come to fruition and its becoming a little repetitive.
For what it's worth I hugely believe in the Dr and have patience he will deliver andy think he's doing things then right way by extending the current squads contracts but we do need to keep the momentum going.

I like this thinking out the box, I`m going for 13 starting props and 4 props on the bench. Interchange as required, no beaten pack no halfbacks struggling behind a beaten pack.
