Interesting change of language there. From saying it was "confirmed" on 21st December to saying the game had been "pencilled in" today.

Salford definitely indicated to Leigh, that they were willing to play on the 13th. Maybe there was a breakdown in communication between the 'admin' side at Salford, and the head coach who, understandably wasn't willing to put a small squad through two games in four days. (he didn't realise at the time, how easy the game against Wigan would be! )
