| We can play at our own ground on the original date.
The people changing the date are the ones causing the embarrassment .

| I don't know whether it's the Stadium management's fault or the Union bods who decide the fixtures but surely the sensible option would have been to have Sale playing away when we are at home to avoid any clashes. Not rocket science.

We weren't meant to be at home, though. That's the point. This issue isn't actually down to Sale, they scheduled their fixtures around ours. Sky have suddenly decided, five days before the fixture, to move it to another date. Sod all this "Sky pay us good money so we do as they say" nonsense, this just shows the utter contempt they have for match going supporters. Do they not realise that some people may already have other plans for that day? Do they think people have nothing in their lives but rugby league? Not that it matters, they only care about the 'product' for television audiences. Awful.
They've made a mockery of professional football (but the Premier League is the greatest league in the world and people all over the globe tune in, so who cares if people have to travel from Manchester to Southampton on a Tuesday night) and they're well on the way to doing the same to rugby league. Regardless of where the game is played, if it's not on Friday night, I reckon I've already watched my last Salford game of the season. Thanks a lot, Sky.

I think there is a case compensation, from Sale and Sky Sports for this ridiculous state of affairs. I was really looking forward to checking out your new ground too. Oh well, Leigh it is then.

3596.jpg this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning

I don't think its that simple? A complete change to the pitch markings would be required, the possibility of a full house for Sale 10,000+ leaving the ground and around 5000+ RL fans arriving would be a logistical nightmare, the corporate hospitality of around 700 Sale supporters being asked to leave early and another say 400+ RL corporate hospitality supporters arriving would be impossible for the stadium company to manage, especially with such short notice, the change over of crew from ESPN to Sky? All sounds impossible to me

| I know people are slagging Sale here, but they have done nothing wrong. I dont see how Sky can change a game when they have no venue for it. Sale have fit their fixtures around ours and have the stadium we rent too, booked for Saturday.
We should play Friday night and if SKY want to broadcast it, they should move their current Friday game to another day.
Asking us to go to Leigh or even move to Saturday at such short notice is totally unfair and unrealistic.
If Sky can start to dictate fixtures and venues, god knows what the future holds.

| Can we get this clear once again this has nothing to do with sale in fact they moved their fixture to Saturday to avoid a clash with salford the only people responsible are sky tv.
Also notice the other negative media outlet radio manc have used twitter to say it's because of sale

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

| Sorry to hear of this farce, it really is rough on you guys (and gals). We were looking forward to checking out your new place as well.
Irrespective of the whys and wherefores, let's hope it is a cracking game for us all to enjoy.
My sympathy again, you should have home advantage but due to Sky's scheduling you are denied it.

| Whilst this may not be the club / stadium company’s fault it is a massive wakeup call as to the actual position we are in as a club. We no longer have an identity a place we can call “home”. The moral of the fans and the relationship between the fans and club is at breaking point if this fixture goes ahead at Leigh for a lot of people it will be the finally nail in the coffin. Playing home games at Leigh regardless of who’s fault it is a true kick in the teeth for fans.
The club however only have themselves to blame for the way the fans are feeling now. Time after time they fail to produce where it matters both on the field and off the field. They need to pull off a miracle in the off season if they want to get fans back on side, however no matter what they do I don’t believe it will be enough, promise after promise , idea after idea , and every time us the fans gets let down. People have really now had enough. We are at the moment on a shoestring budget with all out best players leaving and if/when in the off season fans of years are not renewing season tickets what sort of position does that leave us in for next season and so on, this has the potential to be a major disaster for the club and on what is an already rolling snowball I feel if the fixture at Leigh is confirmed this snowball will get bigger and faster in the off season when people don’t renew.
This season was one the club had to get right in order to generate interest at the new stadium, they have yet again failed miserably and almost everything has gone wrong that could of.
The club said season tickets info for next year will be available for next year at the last game. Yet again it is not going to happen and playing at Leigh you are going to lose around a potential at 2,500 Salford fans who would have been there at Barton, great. We can’t afford to be letting potential customers slip through our grasp like this.
The only way out of this for is new owners and fast. I honestly fear for the clubs future however most of the problems have been foreseeable and could of in many cases been avoided had Salford of acted in the way they should of.

| Familiar rant but straying from the point, mainly.
I can't see this is Salford or Sale's fault.
We are told by the RFL and Sky when we play.
That's the price of full time rugby league supported financially by TV.
It needed common sense at those bodies to avoid changing the date at short notice when the home ground was not available.
Stupid decision but,for once,I can't see it's the club or stadium firms fault

| Hi Salford fans. I would like to share so information that I've just posted on the Wakefield board just now.
Been doing some research and I can confirm the following nearest boozers for the match:
Thomas Burke (Wetherspoons), 20A Leigh Road
The Goose, junction of St Helens Road and King Street
The Hilton Arms, Twist Lane (behind the car park and ground)
The Britannia, St Helens Road - this is the nearest one from the ground.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
