| Quote: Walshovski "1 win out of 9 v SL opposition. PV must stay!'"
Avoiding your obvious sarcasm,I agree.
Lost to other clubs with their coaches in position far longer than PV.and lost today to a rich club coached by someone who has coached GB and won silverware at Warrington and Leeds etc.( not for him coaching at a club with little money and a small fanbase;and of those one or two are not very supportive.)
The players seem to have their finger on the self-destruct button.Reports of 'decimation' and 'under-strength'
only seems to apply to the bigger clubs - we were without 3 starters today, and played 10 minutes with 12 men.
The gamebreaker was the spilled ball just before half-time - it lifted them and their subdued crowd.
The fact that once again we finished stronger, and nearly won - away from home - suggests the players are giving their all for the coaching staff.
Haven't the World Champions lost a few games this year ?.......and they have support from supporters.

| Just to bring in a note of realism following yesterday. While it is undoubted that we are generally better to watch than we were under Mcrae, for all this talk of attacking flair we scored 4 tries yesterday, one of which was an interception and two of which came from Wire making a hash of dealing with a kick. We are still lacking a cutting edge offensively.
That said. We effectively lost the game because of two dreadful one on one missed tackles.

Not forgetting the Ryan Boyle knock on just before half time when all we need to do was complete the set, kick into touch and half was effectively over. Instead Warrington had to instinct to get try on the hooter and for me, the fate of the game was sealed.

hhhmm looking at our for and against average this year we're only slightly better than we were last year and yet ion many occasions so far this season it feels a lot different.
2012 average, For 22 Against 29
2011 average, For 20 Against 30
2010 average, For 17 Against 32
2009 average, For 17 Against 28

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night

| Its all well and good playing a decent brand of rugby, but the fact still remains that we aren't winning games. Not through lack of effort, but through lack of quality, ill discipline and stupid one on one missed tackles.
This time last season we had more points than what we have now and I'm sorry to say it, but I now think our season is over. We have nothing other than pride to play for. Bradford are 6 points ahead of us and it could well be 8 points by the time we play them in a couple of weeks!!

Come on,Ave It,I expect more from a real supporter like you.We can beat Bradford. They have financial worries;they have tough fixtures after we beat them;some of their players may be bound for elsewhere.
Keep the faith !

| Reality check needed for some here. This time last season we'd have KILLED to be complaining about losing by a couple of points away to a top side.

We won the corresponding fixture last year.

Does that matter? It was still a win.

This year we lost by 4 playing against a team stripped of all it's best players. My original point being it is in no sense a better result than what we achieved against Wire last year.

| I feel the reason we lose these kind of games is far deeper than PV being coach, when push comes to shove unfortunatley the players individually and as a group and as a club in many ways just arnt able to gain and edge and proffessionally see it though to a succesful conclusion.
Too much anxiety, too much panic and we will continue to end up on the wrong end of the score lines we have experienced over the last few weeks.
Im not sure what the answer is PV is as good as anyone in the circumstances we find ourselves in, unfortunatley until our deadwoods contracts end and hopefully will be invested in the areas we are short in (like forwards and another coach) and new ideas and attitude is installed from everyone we will continue to see saw and somtimes end up on the right side of the scoreline

You know what I mean.
We have a fairly young team of players who seem to be committed to the cause, have (genuinely) good team spirit and who have the potential to grow as a team. Given the limited budget we have to operate on we have probably played better than we'd have hoped for at the start of the season. All we need to do is add some quality and depth to the pack over the off season and we'll be solid contenders for the playoffs.
For the first time in a few years we have a team we should really be supporting.
