Quote: Huddersfield1895 "A crowd of 3,213 is absolutly pathetic for a game between 2 heartland clubs in the premier Rugby League competition in the NH. No soccer was taking place locally, the test match was taking place in Cardiff and that finished abot 7pm. even the Crusaders got a bigger gate than this. What did Salford do to promote this game?'"

Soccer??? No offence mate but.. which country are you in??

Also, not sure what timezone your in as the Cardiff test match finished a week ago.

On that basis any opinion of yours in no longer taken seriously.

Quote: Adamjk "We probably should have scored twice as many points as we did. I said after the game that a team like Warrington or Wigan could easily have put 80+ points past them last night.

Thought Cashmere and Boyle were brilliant and loved Anderson's pass for Jodie's try - moment of quality there.'"

I think you hit the nail on the head when you say a team like Warrington or Wigan. We are not like them which is why with the squad as it stands and the coaching set up still in transition I'll take any win.

Quote: Reds1982 "

Good win even though it was riddled with mistakes but for me MOM Ratch was just out to impress. Two of his tries should have been offloaded to Broughton to make the kick closer to the sticks. I would love to see him at Salford for years to come but for me that was a performance to impress other clubs.'"

Maybe in the next game he should knock on everytime he gets the ball so as not to impress any other clubs who may be watching? icon_rolleyes.gif

If he did, can you imagine how much he'll enjoy it should we ever get back to the atmosphere we used to have, last night was dreadful as far as our support goes, not just in terms of numbers but noise and passion. The mood was soured for me after our first error when some prat blurted out "your s.hit Salford" Christ we're less than a minute into an 80 minute game against a team we should have been fairly confident of beating (no disrespect to Wakey). We played some really good stuff at times but there was very little coming back from the terraces. Oh and for those of you who booed Holdsworth's name when the team was read out, fook off and take a look at yourself the man's not been at his best (although last night I thought he was tremendous) but that kind of reception is doing anyone any favours. I bet you all cheered when he scored and set up try's!!!

Can we get this sorted? eusa_naughty.gif

Couldnt agree more KOTS. The atmosphere was flat last night and weve been on a downward trend for years. There was times 5 years ago when there was a real buzz around the Willows and its a shame that in our final season at the ground we aint leaving in style.

The fans who boo need to have a word with themselves, but these are the people who come week in and week out so cant criticise them too much as it symbolizes the lack of enthusiasm within the supporters at present. I heard a guy drinking outside the Chandos last night shout to a man in a Salford shirt walking past 'did yous win tonight?' Yes we won was the answer and the response was 'Whos you, St Helens?' You couldnt make it up. Is there any talk in the pubs and clubs of Salford about the team, apart from the usual oh they got beat again.

Never thought I'd say it but I strongly dislike much of our fanbase. Those that don't attend yet feel it correct to criticise from the outset and those that do attend for their constant utterances of bovine excrement.

As for Dan Holdsworth, the guy's a consummate professional who has been guilty of nothing more than tiredness over recent weeks. In fact, the criticism he and many of our other overseas players have received of late amounts to nothing more than ignorance and racism. But, like real men, they have stood up and were counted for last night.

Round of applause for Ramsay St. eusa_clap.gif Keep up the good work!

That could be very true!!!

As for people bagging Holdsworth, he's one of the genuine class acts in the team!! Someone even referred to him as a reserve grade player, get a grip. He made 66 appearances for the bulldogs in three years, not bad when you consider he lost his place in that team to someone of Brett Kimmorley's class, in his final season with the Bulldogs.

Now Jeremy Smith, feel free to make those sort of comments about, but not DJ. He could have taken an easier life at a better club, but stuck with us instead. Where he, probably, wouldn't have to do quite so much defending. Although, I do believe our new head coach would be doing DJ a favour, by handing the captaincy to someone else.

There are elements in the shed now that make me ashamed to be from Salford, ignorance and stupidty in unlimited quantities (that's enough about Fungus and KOTS LOL) make the atmosphere more pathetic than carnival as it should be.

When my mate Vlad isn't there there's loud booming voice that you always used to get years ago. Think the club should make him the terrace mascot icon_wink.gif

As for the game, Hickey must be the person with the biggest beer gut and backside to play in a super league game at the Willows since Neil Baynes?

Yes mate I did.. trip to the Trafford Centre first then ventured up to the Willows, beer in the Con Club.. the weather was perfect for it.

Thought that it could have been alot more than 34 points, Wakefield were never in it.

As for the atmosphere, it was very subdued, only recall one song which sounded good, apart from that it was like being at the Moss Rose watching Macc Town.

I'll be at Warrington and Crusaders and look forward to another Willows visit on the 17th.

Sorry Joe but they're the ones slightly ruining it for me, I commend them for their passion but sadly not the way they [i'support' [/i the team, they were the ones having a go straight away and then singing about how much they love Salford, strange way of showing it for me. However I will agree they are the the ones making the noise (well what there is of it) of late but they are also the ones putting people of being in the Shed in the first place. A guy who's been missing for a couple of years for various reasons came last night and couldn't believe what he was listening to from some of the them. I think some people only go to watch us get beat by their attitudes at times.

No, we can't mate, and that's the main reason I avoid the Shed these days.
