Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try

icons1949_files/4193-180guyguyme2003-msnicons.gif The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

| Quote: Bigpev "perhaps it is a Salford thing, last night I had a free ticket for United, asked everyone in the pub we were in in Trinity if they wanted to come, even offered a lift down and they all said would rather watch in the pub, despite beer going up 5p a pint.
There's nothing new there Pev, thats been the case for years but people hid behind the "I'm a massive United fan but there's no chance of getting a ticket". In my former local the Willows I often offered to go out and obtain a ticket for "the mouths" even offering to pay for it so long as they went, guess what there was always an excuse.
They just got dressed up in there nited replica to go to the pub.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

The bit I found most amusing was your suggestion that the club should've ordered 5,000.
As a comparison, Bradford (whose fans all seem to live in Bulls merchandise) have ordered 4,000 shirts this year and they have a far bigger fna base, and get far bigger crowds, than we do.

Don't you think we'll sell more than usual though? Firstly, it's a decent, more traditional shirt. Then there's the commemorative reasons and we also now have a decent retail site which again may increase sales.
Do you think Bradford would order 4000 if they were issuing a shirt in similar circumstances?

To be honest, I'm not sure. Hopefully, but probably not many more.
That said there's a fricking HUGE grey area between "sell more than usual" and "5,000"?!

Yes but then, as I mentioed, they have a far bigger fan base, and far higher attendances, than us.

I hold my hands up. Having now seen it first hand, we'd be lucky to sell 500 never mind 5000.

| Picked my shirt up yesterday.
OK the material is more like a T shirt than a rugby shirt, the V's are 'iron on' and the sponsonsors badges are too prominent AND there's no devil AND it's overpriced. BUT, I still think it's the best looking shirt I've had whilst supporting Salford and I shall be wearing it proudly throughout the season. COME ON YOU REDS!
