| Is it just me being stupid or have Salford edited what they said at first, im sure on the website it said something along the lines of "this is when work will commence" & a deadline of December 2011 now it just says "Salford have teamed up with the council to get the whole city down for the saints game" also they have deleted the posts of the facebook saying come down and party as the saints game will mark start of the new stadium.
I may be wrong but seems a bit strange they would delete if true. Lets hope Mr Wilky gives us some more info against saints maybe on the pitch at half time, Lets hope the club read this and try and arrange for him to make an announcement & give us fans some news we deserve.

He's right though, it has been changed.
It seems it was a badly worded press release that's been misconstrued as an announcement of work starting on the stadium which I think is evident from the fact that it's been changed.
As an aside, hopefullly we'll get a decent crowd with the reduced prices. I've also heard today that Salford Council are giving free tickets to employees for the game. Not sure on the exact details but positive nonetheless

The club yet again have come out said something with regards to the stadium, then back tracked and changed what they have said. It seems to be a common theme with Salford city reds, if your happy with what your being told then fair enough, but I'm not.
BTW thanks for your well thought out reply. t*sser

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try

| I'm passed caring about the new stadium personally, we're not going to be in the next round of licenses anyway with or without the stadium.

| Quote: Early Bath "Scanners How do you know that no contractor/money is in place? Kindly state your source. Suggest you are just rumour mongering. Have you been down to the Irlam traffic lights just past Boysnope GC? Site of the new road? Wonder where that is going then?
[iWhere has it been announced that all the required money is in place? It hasn't because it isn't. The NWDA certainly hasn't confirmed any investment and Salford council has agreed in principle. How much is in the joint venture company bank account?[/i-----------------------
Not to Salford Council it hasn't.
I answered your question - dont try & change your original question.
[iI haven't changed any questions. Read your own post timed at 10.03 today. Watson bought the ground years ago because Salford were broke and had to sell. It hasn't been sold to Salford Council which is what you initmated when you said it had been sold in order to get this project going.[/i
------------------------------
Sorry to burst your bubble. I was at the Trafford Centre last weekend. There is no activity of any kind on the site. There hasn't been any since Wilko was filmed two years ago before the first round licences were given out. No plant, now sign of workmen, e.g portakabins, absolutely zilch.
No activity expected at the Trafford Centre as we will be playing miles away. As previously pointed out they have been sorting out the remediation of the ground surface which was formerly the site of sewage works. No plant is expected on site until later in the year.
[iSorry, but you really are not very astute at telling porkies. Remediation work requires plant. There's no plant and the ground remains completely untouched from when Wilko was filmed their two years ago with a few buldozers scraping top soil. The site isn't even levelled, nothing has been touched. When later in the year exactly? It was supposed to be March, or are you just the monkey again?[/i
-----------------------------------------
Keep on kidding yourself. It's a major project for Salford and the game, but doesn't get mentioned anywhere other than a very vague piece on the club website. It's not going to start any time soon. The money isn't in place to do anything. There's no contracts signed to build it. It's a pipe dream.
Believe what you will - maybe others know a bit more.
[iOthers like who? Why is it being kept such a big secret if it's ready to roll? Why has the club changed it's press release if it's ready to roll?[/i
-----------------------------------------------
The club must think Salford fans are stupid, and clearly by you believing what they are saying, they are pretty accurate.
I see youve been on the Forum for 3 weeks and have made about 200 posts. I can only surmise what your ultimate objective is and that is to push Widnes`s case for a Franchise.
[iWhat has Widnes got to do with anything? This discussion is about you yet again saying work is about to start.[/i

The tender closed 6 days ago so I hope they got it in in time.

For "construction of a stadium", are you sure? I'm fairly sure they haven't in the time since the planning inspectorate gave the OK (and you wouldn't tender before that).

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

You're the one trying to prove a point, you look around and present the evidence.

That would be the expression of interest, not the actual bid return.

| Tenders were put out previously, but when a new company involving the council was set up, NEW tenders had to be put out, as with any council work in whatever capacity.

I wasn't trying to prove any point. You made the statement that tenders would not go out for a pipe dream as I descrived this fiasco.
Tenders were sent out for the previous stadium which did not materialise. That's not proving a point, it's questioning your assertion that this is not a pipe dream.
