your probably right over the 80 minutes, but considering the hornets are a 'new' set-up they did very well, i was expecting a whitewash.

| so did most people outside of the irlam set up, we have got a good squad and i dont think we played to even 80% of our potential last night, and regards to the referee decision at the end
he said to us at the end of the game that he saw the ball get grounded but he wasnt sure if there was double movement or not... so he gave held up over the line???
it should of either been play of the ball on the line, or a penalty he got it wrong and there is no denying it, but we cant complain about decisions, we made it hard for ourselves during the first 40 and we came out second half like we should of in the first, all the lads, (including folly) are a credit to the amatuer game for performing so well on what is a huge pitch (15m wider than the hornets home pitch)

| Beltin game, I really enjoyed it and for £3, that's a bargain of a night (well that's without ale and food) credit to both sides for making the occasion.

| divison 1 Folly started the stronger team, it took division 4 irlam 20 or so minutes to get up to speed, after that it was a pretty even game, from what i seen it was a poor refereeing error that cost Irlam the game as it looked a defo try in my eyes and by the looks of what has been wrote on here a try should of been awarded.
congratulations to both teams on making this a great game and a great night, bargain at £3.00.

That was exactly how the semi final was with Folly and Cadishead. Once teams settle in to how Folly are playing... it's not difficult to work out what makes them tick... unfortunately... if you don't work them out quicker... it can have already cost you the game.
The difference between Irlam and Folly and Cadishead and Folly isn't that great... and given home advantage (which Cadishead should have had may I add)... I'd see Irlam and Cadishead both being more than capable of getting a result against them. That said... Folly are a decent side... and the the point I'm making is that the 2 local sides in Division 4 are good sides and will certainly hold their own this season... even against bigger clubs.

Think there was more of a difference in the Folly Cadishead game than your making out. We spent 20 minutes of the game down to 12 men and had what would of been 4 certain trys chalked off for dubious forward passes. Plus the fact that we kicked 2 goals didn't help and at 28-12 I honestly thought the score line flattered Cadishead. (Mind you that 7 you had was head and shoulders above anyone else on the field).
As for the game Wednesday, there's no doubting that Irlam should be playing at a higher level, they showed some really nice touches and were unlucky not to win the game as I to thought it was a try, but could they keep performing like that week in week out? Or did they just up their levels for that one game?? All in all it was a great game and just shows how amateur rugby in Salford Isn't dead, Maybe next year we could expand it and get Eccles back involved as well as maybe Bury?? Lets put Swinton back in there as well they'll have no chance anyway

It didn't help us the fact that we got there as early as we possibly could... which was 10 mins before kick off and the ref insisting we kick off on time. Also... the 7 you are referring to didn't get there until 10 mins before half time, and his stand off didn't arrive until just after half time as they both had fair journeys to make. So we had a scratch half back partnership... and we started cold... hence the reason that in the first 10 mins you went 10-0 up. Take that away away, and the rest of the game was 18-12... and only 40 mins of which we had our regular half backs.
Still... we were happy coming out of that at 28-12 considering there were a lot of things against us... including the home advantage that shouldn't have been.

| Does anyone know whether the number 5 for Irlam on Wednesday has played much RL before? I'm sure on one occasion when a ball was kicked into touch he reacted as if he was going to take a quick lineout, and I noticed the coaches telling him where to stand on a couple of occasions.

If he's not I don't think he'll be playing much more in a hurry, he didn't half take some heavy shots To be fair he got up and just carried on.

| as for the stand out players i thought the 6 for folly started out well in attack but faded out of the game but put in some big shots and the full back who made that cracking covering tackle on irlams stand off which i would of put money on him usually to score also the 9 seemed to scoot well for folly .
