Loyalfan got it right for me, it was a copy of the last weeks game,we had not taken the video & learned the lessions from last week, outside they always had the extra man, rubber lips had done his homework on us. A couple of bright notes, we kept plugging away & stayed in the game & I thought we looked a far better team when Smith came on.

On a seperate subject!
I know we don't really have many options but I am getting quite depressed when I see Stu Littler on the team sheet, surely we have more options than Stuart? I look at all other team continually breaking our defence in wide area's by moving the ball out wide with Stuart Littler you could put a bet on him driving into a tackle without a thought to moving the ball wide or breaking a tackle. Great servant but not super league quality (sorry)

I agree completely about Stu he is a loyal player and he has been rewarded for that but the time Has come when we need to start matching the rest of the league as far as results go. Also I agree about Alker being slow on the attack again very loyal and great defensively but we need to get up the field to score trys and he can't get us up there fast or accuratly anymore.

I think the 2 week break is the best thing for us now. We've looked very tired over the past 2 games and we've got a chance to look over things, regroup and prepare for Hull away. Hopefully we'll actually work on our defence out wide because teams will keep doing it to us over and over if we don't sort it out. I bet the last 2 weeks have been the easiest of Pat Richards' career - all 5 of his tries were walk-ins.

Losing Talau to injury leaves us with yet another player missing from the backs. Is there anyone that could make the step up from the Academy? Surely someone like Thornley would be better than Littler in the centres at the moment. As has been said already he offers little in both attack and defence other than enthusiasm.

Well I think you know how I feel about Araldite Littler. How will we improve with Stu iin the side? Passed sell by date and so too Malc in attack. Second row beckons. Time for change in philosophy. Bring more kids in - nowt to lose now - come on Shaun move things around we are just too predictable.

We didnt stand a chance after the first 20mins. You cant get off to a start like that and expect to win. We barely touched the ball.

I have said all season that Littler is not a Super League player and he should not be playing. The trouble is though we have no wingers so Goulding, who is a much better centre than Littler, has to play on the wing because he is the only centre that can also do a good job on the wing. I would see if we could get another loan player (winger) and play Goulding at centre. Littler should just not be in the 17.

Alker is also past it at hooker. The hooking role is much more than just defence and getting to every play the ball and doing safe steady passes. This is all he does and he offers no attacking threat at all. If I had to play him it would be as a workhorse second row coming off the bench.

Robbie Paul is also another player who is past it. he camme to us when we were in NL1 because he wasnt up to the speed of Super League anymore and yet 2 years on we are back in Super League and he is playing.

De ja vue all over again I thought, we won the last hour but the first twenty mins woeful, when we did break the line we played panic Rugby instead of taking the tackle and going for the quick play the ball and seeing what we could do. Mr Ian Smith was better than the frenchman but were we the only team passing forward or obstructing?

looks like Talau is out for the season how often does this happen to top earners we sign?
but something to build on for Hull and we have already won there.
one note about the crowd thought it was about the same or less than last week, not 2000 dif, plus in the cup game we share the gate 50/50 but it is not the first time Wigan have cheated with crowd figures and I bet it won't be the last.

Another thing I bought a pie at the match and it was crap, it looked and tasted like it was left over from last week or possibly had a season ticket and had been to every match icon_razz.gif

It won't be down to Wigan though. It'll be a franchise that the stadium have sold the catering contract to. The catering company can do what they want now they've got the contract and Wigan RL/AFC can turn around and say "sorry, nothing to do with us" when people complain.

The game was over after 10 mins last night, Wigan blew us away but our defense was like it was early in the season! Thought when we got it back to 22-6 we looked half decent, only if we'd have scored off the two clean breaks we made after that! 22-18 and it was game on! Credit to Wigan though for there scramble defence!

Like others have said, when smith came on we looked a different team! We were making more yards and looking threatening! To be fair to Mcrae though he did look like he was knackered and the game was already lost, so why not take him off and save him from possibly picking up another injury? Your more prone to when your coming back from being out for a while! Cant wait till we get some back to back home games!
