I don't have a problem with Moon. The lad has a young family and has to look after his own interests like any other father has to. Yep he said he was returning down under and went to Leeds which was a blatant lie, but if anyone was in a situation of similar ilk, potentially no club and no clear indication where the next pay packet is coming from then you could do the same if a big contract was on the table. He's lied and I dislike that but its time to move on IMO

When fit he is without doubt one of the best, if not THE best centres in SL IMO. Didn't like the way he got out of our place at all but ability wise fantastic talent who would be a huge asset for any team as he is proving now at Leeds where, correct me if I'm wrong, has hardly missed any games through injury apart from tonight!

No hard feelings from me. I accept the manner of his departure wasnt tasteful, but you cant exactly blame him. We were in a mess financially and we had let our best players leave. He was far too good for us at the time and deserves to be playing in a team like Leeds. Quality player.

Seconded; I can't blame anyone for getting away from the shambles that the club had become last year.
I wouldn't particularly want to stay with an employer where there was uncertainty as to when/if you were going to be paid & I'd be using any excuse available to jump ship as quickly as possible

KOTS - exactly my thoughts, I'd have him back like a shot. Those folk calling him need to be a bit more realistic - SCR were a complete shambles and clearly on the way down the pan - I don't blame any employee in those circumstances from trying to secure their, and their family's futures.

Me too, I have absolutely no issues with Joel Moon as an individual as he needed to secure his future. We were a basket case and Leeds paid an undisclosed fee for his services. Like KOTS and BF, I'd love to see him come back but I don't think that will happen.

I have to say I'm surprised at these reactions. I have no problem with someone securing employment for themselves as a person who has recently been made redundant. However, the manner in which he left was indefensible.

I was made redundant from my teaching job due to falling student numbers and lack of funding at easter. I did not finish teaching until the end of the summer term. Did I spit my dummy out? No! I completed my obligations and now look sure something else.

If he had come out and said I've had enough if the uncertainty I want to move on then fine. To say he wanted to go home and then go to Leeds was a betrayal of the highest proportions in my view.

Considering the stick the likes of Myler, Coley and Robinson have got at times as I said I am surprised. There are quite a few who could have jumped ship and didn't. I agree with you all on his ability, he is a cracking player but I cannot forgive him for his dishonesty.

I can understand his reasons for wanting a move, it just didn't appear to have been handled the best.

Still one of the classiest players I've seen in a red shirt and one I'd thank the Doc for enternally if he could tempt him back.

Iain, he used the homesick card at his tribunal when he tried to get the RFL to annul his contract with Salford, that and all sorts of other things, such as verbal agreements with Matt Parish, not having enough time to consider the contract before he was pressurised into signing. Salford could disprove all the contractual issues his agent came up with. Won't make me popular on here, but Steve Simms submitted Salfords case, and an excellent job he did of it. I read both submissions when helping out the club, I would have to say Joel was led by his agent, and there were other issues I would not care to air on a public forum. So I have no problem with anyone looking to jump ship when the ship is sinking, just be honest about it.
