just read club website says offer been made - just waiting for contracts to be signed
then says an annoucnement in 7-10 days!! how long does it take to sign up!

Manly Toyota Cup coach. I think our old pal Mr Barker got his google translator out straight away! He seems to think Gentle's desire to see out his contract has seen us look to Penna.

Surely, if the club see Gentle as the right person for the job, it would be better to wait for him?
If a new coach was to come in and the failings of the previous regime made it near on impossible for him, to improve results on the pitch. Then he's half way to losing the dressing room already. I'm no advocate of giving up on a season, but at the same time, we should be thinking longterm. The overwhelming fact should be bringing the best coach available in, not a quick fix.
Maybe, they do see Penna as the best man for the job. Even then I'd rather see him given an off-season to mould and shape the team into what he wants.
